I would think that it would really help people out who are looking to Buy and Sell to local folks here. Keep it more organized if you know what I'm saying. I think it would really help me out.
Texas has one and I'm jealous!!
Where is Arizona's or New York's?
What do guys think of doing that? or at least for the states who want it..

Texas is as big as 2-3 states put together. We have a lot of members here, and it can take 2 hours one way for a short trip, and 8-10 hours one way for a long trip - and still be in Texas! It makes sense to have a group for us.

Some states like Alaska, Hawaii or Maine might only have one or two members, and they can talk to themselves just fine without needing a Group.

Others areas like the Northeast where there are a bunch of states and everyone can hop on a train for an hour and be somewhere far away means that lots of different states can participate.

If you think your area is deserving of a Group, contact a moderator or admin about creating one...

It also helps if people put their locations in their profiles (hint hint) so that people starting Groups know how many people are in a certain area...

I would love to join a West Coast - SF Bay Area Chapter if there was one, but we're all so spread out and most likely extremely busy when we're offline. There's a reason why some call this a hobby. But hey, if some SF Bay Area guys want to start a Chapter, I'm all in. :)

hmm.. Arizona's kinda spread out.. I don't think I know all the Arizona folks on here...
Any body vote on it? I'm not going to do it unless there is anyone else interested in it too.

That would be a great idea... but perhaps regionally would be better, IE southeast, etc.

Yes That would be great for the eastern states. Not so much for the west though..

Yeah, like Modessitt said, states like Texas and CA are huge. I said SF Bay Area Chapter as opposed to Southern CA Chapter and Northern CA (the real Northern, not what some consider the Bay Area) Chapter.

So what does a Chapter involve really? What do you Northeast Chapter boys do other than the occasional get together and warehouse raid?

we have the SMAC e-mail list (Seattle Metro Arcade Collectors) that covers the Puget Sound region, with a few members a little further out (Portland, southern B.C., eastern Washington.) it's been a great resource for the local guys to chat, and there are a number of members who are not active on KLOV (and vis versa.) membership is word-of-mouth and traffic is moderate at best.

no reason people in a region can't get together and do the same.

Yep. With SMAC as my example, I started PAC for the Portland area folks. Not everyone in the group are klovers so I think it probably works well that it's not klov based.

Hey I think we have 4 members....and a guy with a s-load of Edots who doesn't want to be social.
However, I do talk to myself quite a bit, I have to remind myself:

I've said this before and i'll say it again...

Houston Area Arcade Gamers - HAAG

Nashville needs NAAG and we could meet at Game Galaxy for parties and repair lessons. I think there are enough people within a two hour dive from alot of people. We have a great location for alot of people

(oh and what would Florida's group call themselves???)

.

FAAG......lol

On the one hand I think it would be cool.. but on the other I think we'd see a huge surge of chatter for the first few weeks or so and then things would die off and we'd just have a bunch of dead boards.

Maybe instead of that... if people want to chat with each other within a certain number of miles that might be fun.

Such as having a "find members within xx miles of xx zip code" search or something. Then you could maybe mass invite those people to a thread conversation you start.

I dunno... maybe that's too complicated, lol.
