Why is it I never hear anyone talking of the pinball showdown in Colorado? Anyone been there? How is the show? Are you going?

I am going, thought it looked cool, bringing the family I am sure the video stuff will be good for my boys.

I'll be there. There's been some talk of it on RGP. There's a spreadsheet with FS/Wanted pins on it, I'll see if I can find the link.

I've never heard of it, which is why I haven't talked about it. ;) OTOH, Pinburgh 2011 was AWESOME!!! Best tournament/pinball event I've ever attended; liked it better than PAPA even. (The NW Pinball Show in Seattle this June sounds excellent with a great speaker list. But for competition or just playing pinball, Pinburgh is #1 by far.)

it's where folks from northern or central NM go for a pinball show, as far as i know. website is: http://www.pinballshowdown.com/ i've heard very good things about it - i'm tempted to go this year with my boys, but we already have 3 other trips planned this year, so i fear it's going to have to be next year.

Is there still a big pin expo/tourney in Arizona? I remember some friends used to go to one many years ago.

The first rule of Pinball Showdown is you don't talk about Pinball Showdown!

Sorry, couldn't resist :)

I'll be there, great show. It's at a new location this year, good for me, it's only 10 mins from my house. I'll be bringing a couple of games.

I was there last year and it was a good time. I don't think I can make it this year, but I'd love to find a way to go again.

You wouldn't happen to be the same Jerry that I picked the GnR up from last year, are you?

my first and only pin expo was the Showdown last year. regrettably don't believe I will be getting there this year but I highly recommend it to anyone not on one of the coasts or in the chicago or PA areas (where there are plenty of pinball show options). great time last year. lots of awesome machines and vendors. i've noticed, since attending, that the 175 or so pins the Showdown can boast is every bit as many as some of the more established shows.

i will have to check-out the buy/sell spreadsheet........... who knows... maybe i'll jump in the buggy again and head down there....

btw, hit Lyon's Family Pinball in Lyons CO while you're in the area (25+ machines). can you say ''HERCULES ! ! !'' not open Mon-Wed though I think.......

Heh, I have a feeling it is. Did he sell you some of his famous bathtub gin as well? :)

No gin, but he was a real nice guy! I was actually picking up the machine for a friend, but I was the mule that brought it back to Utah from Colorado.

Yup, thats me! I had that GnR and the South Park last year. This year it'll be an MM and a Creech (if I get my lazy butt in gear!). I didn't take any of the infamous gin to the show, thats for the after party (well maybe pre-show to). As far as the bathtub part, well lets just say none of you guys have the assets you need to get invited to that party! That takes what a gal needs to get on a backglass.
Jar - sorry you're not going to make it this year. You know, if you're not the mule it makes the trip a lot easier.

Jerry

Well I'm not 100% sure that I won't make it yet, Jerry, but it overlaps with my son's 2nd birthday and I'm also trying to save my pinball budget for a WH20 restore. We'll see. I'm hoping to make it anyway.

I just picked one up myself a couple weeks ago. Have you seen the ice blue mountains set that Bay Area is selling?

I bought a set and was really impressed with the quality when I got them. I also picked up the "humble bumble" figure that you can see in the example picture at Bay Area on ebay, NIB. Mine came with a repro original set of mountains which I may sell at some point. If you need them let me know.

Cool, I was hoping to hear some firsthand opinions of the blue mountains. I think they're pretty cool looking. They definitely give the game a different look.

The guy that sold me the machine had an extra mountain set, but I haven't made sure it's complete yet. It looked like he had extra ramps too, which would really cut down the price of the restore.
