I'm trying to remove the screening from a Midway 25c insert and was wondering if anyone knew how to do so. Alcohol and Goo Gone don't do a darn thing.

I've done it with lacquer thinner on a rag or paper towel. Wipe quickly and it will remove the silkscreening without hurting the plastic.

I have done this several times in the past with excellent results.

I might try that if no one else has an answer.

this is not only 100% true its also basically your ONLY option!!
outside of sanding and polishing

At one time I had several Midway pricing windows that said 25 cents 2 plays. We had a machine on location that had been broken into and they broke out the pricing window. So I took the lacquer thinner and a rag and literally wiped off the "2 plays". Then I spray painted some flat black where it was now clear and you could not tell it from brand new. Now the window just said 25 cents and it looked like a factory original.

DON'T use acetone, it will eat the plastic.

You think the one's on my coin door are too far gone? :D

In fact, are these or the badges reproduced?

Thanks.

You would be suprised.

THe ones on my tron looked pretty bad.. but remember the art is all on the backside.. the front is just 1/4" of plexiglass.. So there is plenty of room to sand down through all the scratches and repolish.

Im going to have to try the lacqquer thinner trick on my pins. I want to do custom coin inserts like what i did with the arcade games
