How can I run a Pac Jr board along side my Ms Pac board?

I have a working pac-man jr board that I can plug into my ms-pac machine when ever i want to play it. This is getting old and I was wondering if there is a way I can have both boards hooked up in my ms-pac. Then maybe a way I can throw a switch or something in between them. So I can play either one when I want.

Any ideas on how to pull this off?

Sure, the easiest way is to install a 60-1 board :)
An adapter could be built to mount both boards in the cab and have the power switched through relays via toggle switch.

So I have an extra set of rails to mount the pac-jr board to the right side of the cab. I also have a hacked up ms-pac harness in my #2 ms-pac. Im not sure how bad it is hacked because the machine had a switcher installed in it. They left the midway power supply in the bottom. So I do have some parts. I wanted to use the extra harness for a stand alone pac test bench like yours but hey wtf. I will get one someday.

Anyway what would be the best way to do this? What else do I need? Is there a way this could be done with out hacking my good harness in ms-pac#1?

I wouldnt use that original harness whatever you wanted to do with it. Just get a new 22/44 EC. You wouldnt have to hack the original harness at all, basically you make a Y splitter and switch the power from one to another with relays. It can be built to be plug and play.

So I need a new edge connector 22/44. What kind of relays would I use for the switching part?

Dosent the 96-1 kit have Jr. Pac on it? I bet for less time and money (and less hacking) you could probably just find this kit and call it a done deal.

use switches connected in the back someplace near the PCB/door. you could glue a metal rod to the toggles and throw them all at once with the power off.
you would need a switch for each of the video wires, power supply from the transformer.

actually some you wouldnt need individual switches for. the controls could be wired to each board without a switch. i guess the video too but i dont know what would happen if you sent a video signal into the outputs of the non used board. coin up wire could be wired to both boards same with the P1 & P2 starts. grounds could be wired to both without a switch.

Yes that is correct but I have everything already... A 4n1 and a jr board.

The adapter will require two edge connectors and a fingerboard.

The switcher part is where im lost but riptor seems to have an idea on how to pull that off!

I know one thing it would be a cool setup if nothing is hacked!

Btw check out your new store it is getting really stream line...

This is not a hard hack. Just tedious. All you need is a fingerboard, two edge connectors, wire, some relays and a switch. Really, really simple. Build a "Y" cable, and wire the power up to relays so you can control them all with one toggle switch. You need to switch the power, and possibly the video, depends on how much the other board loads on the video lines. Controls should be able to just go to both boards, no switching.

The 96-1 does not have Jr. on it. I wish it did cause now Id like to get a junior to put into my pac when I want to play it.

I used an ABCDEF serial switch box; there's a rotary switch on the front and seven 25-pin D-sub connectors on the back. I'm powering up all the PCBs at the same time, and just switching the video, audio and inputs. I've got Galaxian, Galaga, PacMan, Dig Dug and Xevious in there right now. I did put in a switching P/S. It's been working for a few years with no problems. I added reset and credit buttons to the control panel to make playing easier.
