Thinking about picking up some bw tubes without chassis, how can I identify the chassis that would go with them? I'm assuming some have frames so I can see what may or may not be mounted to the side. Probably won't have a lot of time to look but I just want to figure out ways I can maybe quickly scan and think oh yes this went to a v2000, or a G05802 etc. I used to be mildly proficient with these old black and whites but it's been a long time since I looked at them and really dove into them until now. I don't have any pictures of the tubes, I just might go see some. And I don't even know pricing for tubes anymore but I figure I could use a couple.
Any help is appreciated thanks in advance

The original Sylvania CRT was 19VARP4. The original Amperex CRT was M50-102W.

Read a tube designation from a CRT pulled from a b&w arcade
  • 19V — 19" viewable size, indicated by the V
    • Earlier tubes and some foreign tubes give the total face size, ex. 20ACP4
  • 22V = 22" viewable B&W
    • Earlier tubes and some foreign tubes give the total face size, ex.. 23ACP4.
  • AR — CRT "family." ex. there are 13VARP4, 14VARP4, 22VARP4, etc.
  • P4 — Phosphor #4 (white)
You mainly care about viewable size and phosphor, so 19VxxP4 or 22Vxx P4 is what you want

Read a designation from a TV tube you found, looking for a B&W tube

  • M = Computer Monitor
  • 47 = 47 Screen diameter in centimeter
    • 19" = 47 centimeters
  • EAA = tube family
  • xx = specific tube in the family
  • Wx = Monochrome Phosphor
  • You mainly care about viewable size, tube family and monochrome phosphor, so M47EAAxxWx is what you want

There is NO DIFFERENCE between a 'vector tube' and a 'raster tube'. "Tubes is tubes for B&W... just about any CRT you find will be fine.
