So while attempting to clean my overlay for my Neo-Geo Cabinet, I noticed that there is what looks like Tape Residue on it. Can I use Goo Gone on this material, or will it mess it up. The overlay already looks duller since I cleaned it?!

Goo gone will be fine, but be careful not to get it on the underside. You might want to tape it off or something.

Goo gone is pretty mild, but it will eat through paint if you leave it on long enough. I learned this the hard way stripping my Asteroid Deluxe control panel. After I stripped off the overlay, I used a combination of wire brush, block sander, and Goo Gone to strip it down to bare metal. Some of the Goo Gone splashed through the button holes and ate away some of the paint on the underside, so I ended up repainting more than I wanted to.

Ok, thanks!

Also, you said you had to paint. Some spots on my overlay need some touching up, not really a big deal, but if I wanted to touch them up, how would I go about matching the colors?

You could take the panel to an arts and crafts or your local walmart. I suggest acrylic paints with a paint brush. You could use spray but it gets hard to control on small touch ups.

be careful not to overspend. I purchased one of QuarterArcade's CPOs for NeoGeo (same one you have) and it honestly looks great, and personally feels better than the originals imo. If your original is a bit messed up I would highly recommend picking up one of his CPOs (~50-60$ if I recall correctly).

Oh yeah. I also have a quarter Arcade CPO and it is fantastic looking. I still have to get the courage to install it.

Thanks for that link. I was looking for them yesterday on that site and couldn't find them. It's nice to see that it's made on the same material as opposed to being something that adheres to the metal.
