Ok.. I need to move my games from storage to the new house. I want to get the right size truck to move the 12 games plus about 1-2 rooms worth of misc boxes of arcade/personal stuff.
The games are:
Omega Race - cockpit
Star Trek- Cpt. chair
Sega Time Traveler- big and odd size
Trivia Wiz - cocktail
MsPac- CT and UR
Sarge - CT
Gorf - UR
Track and Field - UR
Star Wars - UR
Arkanoid - UR
Tempest - UR

So I'm thinking either the 20ft or the 24ft truck should do. I have never had to move all my games before..so any advice from anyone thats done it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

whatever size you get, make sure it has a liftgate, and diesel as well, we moved a lot of games for a recent show in orlando, and initially had a 26ft? and fitted about 25 games total, also have a 16ft, which fitted about 15 games, 2nd truck was gas and drunk it, diesel was far better $$ wise, but wish we had one with liftgate as after moving so many machines up and down ramps, which you think will be easy enough, after 24hrs of it, its tough

Just get the biggest one you can. In NY anyway, thats a 26' box truck (unless you have a commercial drivers license). With 12 games _and_ extra stuff, I think you're gonna need it. The $$ difference is small from 20-26'. Make sure you get a truck with a lift gate (i.e. Ryder).. your back will thank you!

cheers / good luck!

Yeah.. fortunately I've only got to go 90 miles. I'm even considering just getting the larger open trailer and moving the odd size games like the sitdowns by themselves. I'll then just get a smaller truck for the rest. Plan to have it done by the end of Nov. If possible... as long as something unforseen doesn't derail my plans.

A 24ft Ryder truck with the lift gate will run me around 165 for a one day rental. However, it MUST be returned to the same place you rented it from. so..after loading and unloading I have to drive anouther 3hr roundtrip to return the truck and then finally be done. sounds like another typical adventure in arcade collecting. LOL A U-Haul 24ft truck rented one way will run about 30 or so less ..but it only has a ramp and not a lift gate. I think I can live with a ramp for one move.
