How large is your game room / arcade in square feet? And how many games can you put in your arcade before its filled up?

Dream house shopping in NC and trying to gauge how large of a basement I'll need.

Thanks!

This week I'll be moving into the new house, and the game room consists of 600+ sq ft downstairs and 300+ sq ft upstairs for a pool table most likely. I haven't tried to figure out how many games I can fit in there yet to be honest.

My basement is somewhere around 1300 square feet. It's one big room. It's almost shaped like an "M". I have at least 50 games (pins, videos, cocktail games and some other misc crap) in it and there is still room to move around and work on the games comfortably. What I've found is that wall space seems to be as important as raw footage. I don't think I would have got as many games in the room if it was just a big square. A double door to the outside world with no steps is also important.

It doesn't matter how large of a room you buy, your collection will grow to fill the space. I'm considering adding on to make more room.

Mine is 18x19- the room over the garage. The walls are 4' tall, then the ceiling slopes up inward towards the center of the room at a 45 deg. angle from that point to a 10' ceiling height.
In my gameroom, i have 11 full size cabs, 1 megatouch, a computer, stereo, and tv, karaoke setup (all in one entertainment center), a love seat and a 9' brunswick pool table. All are usable. Theirs just enough room to shoot pool without the cabs interfering. If my walls were 8' tall, i'd have lots of room... enough to play games and shoot pool at the same time.

My arcade is hanging off a cliff. It's visible from the 110 fwy between downtown LA and Pasadena, way at the top of a hill, about 900 ft above the freeway.

I've never posted pics of it here on KLOV, but as I approach completion of the exterior deck, I'll be making them available. It can fit about 20 machines, tightly packed.

My gameroom is 44ft by 25ft for 1100 square feet. I have 30 games in there with a nice sized bar area, pool table, and some couches and TV area. I can get creative and cramped and squeeze a bunch more games in if needed, but I like the layout currently.

my gameroom is 20 by 30 (600 sq ft), I have 20 games and a juke box lined along the 2 long walls, a bar across one of the short walls and a pair of Soda machines on the other. A pool table and a couple cocktails complete the center of the room. I could probably stuff a couple more in, but its comfortably full right now

Well M1A right now my arcade is my apt...the whole damn thing, wherever i can put a game then that is where it is at...I am sorry its not what you were talking about but my old arcade had to be approx: 10x12 and was stacked with games, and now situation states that my whole apt is an arcade...LOL

I believe mine is a little over 700 square feet. There's a bathroom down there(storage at the moment); not counting that. You can view it(my signature) and see I have more room if I move some games closer together, etc. I could probably fit 30 games when its all said and done.

Since my downstairs game room is about the same size and dimensions as yours that puts into perspective for me that filling the space will take so many games that it's hard for me to imagine being full and wishing I had more space. So I appreciate you sharing those details! :)

Just under 500 SQFT. Mine is full (24 Vids, 1 Pin, RoboJuke, and a BC-1 Bill Changer (skinny kind)).

I have enough room for people to play and for others to get past. Space wise I could cram a lot more in there, but I want the extra room for the people :) I think I'm at the limit power wise as well.

Next house needs to be twice as big as the current one, or a full basement (hard to get in Phoenix).

Light that SOB up at night and I'll find you.

My games are in my 2 car garage that is still 80% garage. Washer, dryer, misc. garage junk, weight bench, squat rack, CAR! So I only have 4 in there.

One of these days I'll add-on about 550sqft. above my family room and fill that sucker up.

Never Big Enough!

I have a 120sq. foot area in my garage. My wife said she would divorce me if I tried to get her to park her car outside!
So, I either need a new house or a good attorney!! Hmmm..in this economy the house might be cheaper!

Anyway, currently have six games and 1 pinball...could maybe fit three more games. More if I didn't have that crazy 50" screen Star Wars Trilogy...sheesh! (but I love that game)

smaller than my storage space :(
Its 2 adjacent rooms, 20x15 + 10x12 (including a 6x6 work area) approx.
I have 6 pins, a ball bowler, and 12 arcade games (video and EM)
... or so...
down side is there is not any real "hang out" space unless you want to sit on the fireplace hearth!
cheers

LOL, last year I felt the same way. it fills up quick, last week I bought a driver from steve23 and had to figure out which one had to leave to make room:eek: On that note, Ive decided that whichever game gets the least play, regardless of what I think of it, is the next to go. Course, if I dont play it much, cant think too highly of it anyway, can I:D

I'm also in an apartment. The 2nd bedroom (12x15) is my gameroom/workshop and I have a full storage unit elsewhere.

I currently have 11 games in there currently (along two walls), although my pinball (selling soon) sits sideways in front of two, and my two cocktails are currently stacked on top of each other in the corner. I also have an 8-ft table and a filing cabinet along a third wall for working on stuff.

Oh, how it would be nice to have a garage or basement....

My gameroom is approximately 10' x 19'... I re-arranged last night. I have 12 upright in there (including Race Drivin' compact which has a seat), an Atari cocktail, an Arachnid Super Six dart cabinet and a 2-person "loveseat" couch. If the cocktail and couch wasn't there I'd easily get another 3 uprights to fit if not 4.

My basement arcade is about 1200 sq ft broken up into two large sections. I've got about 50 games down there (arcade and pinball) and a decent sized bar area. If we got rid of the bar, which we rarely use, I could get at least 10 more games down there.

Proper arrangement and efficient use of space is the key. I've rearranged it several times and always manage to make more room :D

I also have a crawlspace that I wish the builder had just dug out as it would add about three 10x12 rooms for storage (yeah, right!) or more pins. I have no idea what it would cost to dig it out now, by hand, but I have visions of Tim Robbins in The Shawshank Redemption dropping pocketfuls of dirt onto my neighbor's lawns. Should only take about 15-20 years.
