Is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of seeing this new guy on CL with his Frankenstein fixes and conversions? Here is his latest ccontribution:

http://houston.craigslist.org/vgm/2469403818.html

"Up for sale is a Authentic Galage Arcade Machine. Machine works and has been tested. When we got the machine the monitor was not working and we are in the process of converting it over to a vga monitor now. The machine has been tested under the other monitor and works game plays with no flaws. Cabinet overall is in great condition."

This one isn't the worst, but it just gets me going everytime I see one of his fixes.

They are not fixes. I think this was the same guy that was advertising about how he wanted non-working but good condition video games to work on with his son as a hobby. I wish I had saved one of those ads 'cause I'm positive those ads were out of Baytown also.

I bet you are right Ken. This guys posts about the same way (repeated posts day after day). Yeah I couldn't think of a good word to use in place of "fixes." It's just a shame.

NO THAT IS ME OUT OF LEAGUE CITY!!!! I do work on games with my son and i post that add about every other month. I just sent you my pcb the other day that my son and i couldnt get working. You repaired it but then it failed again with ram error 131. We ordered the ram and will be calling you again if it doesnt fix my stargate.. I just posted a couple of days ago my Overdrive game looking for a gocart trade and my great 1000 mile rally game. I just got into the hobby about 6 months ago and im really loving it. I have ordered several things from others here on KLOVG and have learned a lot. This baytown guy is someone ELSE!! Jonathan from League City

Count me in. The wife and son are ready for an arcade party as well (so 3 of us total). I can help play the games...lol.

plz let me know when?

Ken (yellowdog) held the party last year. I wasn't a member of KLOV at that time, so I didn't attend last years party, but I'll be there this year. See you there. BTW, great pictues Jon.

OP, if you sift through the guy's ads his Arch Rivals is in a System 1 cabinet. Talk him into stripping the kit out of it and selling you the cab you wanted.

I'm not too sure what the reason is to be disgusted with this guy. All these crappy conversions were probably mostly like that to begin with. Unless he thinks there is still money in converting to lukewarm kit games like these.

Doesn't seem to be stripping most to multi them either. Then again with a lineup like he has would anybody miss these dogs either way? :/

And if he still upsets you consider his posting trends. He seems to still have every damn thing he has ever posted, and has to keep lowering prices. Obviously nobody is even making offers. And he lives in Baytown to boot, that is like a penance right there.

But if you want to pioneer a cause, I was thinking about petitioning to get The Arcade Fire banned from ever coming back to Houston. Or going back in time to try to stop Microsoft from naming a 360 bundle the "Arcade".

I wasn't trying to attack anyone personally. I was just frustrated with seeing some classic games being hacked up to crap. The guy has gone back and changed almost all of his listings now. What got me to make the post was seeing the Galaga having a computer monitor installed in it which was proceeded by a Space Invaders that had been hacked around. The listing is changed now and dont remember what was done to it. Then you have the Centapede that is now Smash TV. Then there was the weird auction thing for the Spy Hunter. Anyway, it looks like the dude has changed his tune on most all the stuff so I have no further problem with them as long as they aren't hacking up more stuff.

Oh yeah, I totally agree with you on the Arcade Fire and XBox.

Oh, right, the Spy Hunter 'auction'. I forgot about that. I remember reading the listing and thinking how much it read like a description of eBay, only with no chance of legitimacy. Ire-worthy.

I sort of wonder if it was the Spy Hunter I sold a few years back tho. Naaah probably not. :|

Oh well, converted titles and multis in beat up, badly painted cabinets don't go for what they used to, almost feel sorry for him being stuck with those horrible looking things. I am sick of seeing his ads though.

What was the deal with the Spy Hunter auction?

Oooh snap. Homeboy gots a Missile Command for sale now "$700, taking offers". And a Mario widebody for $600 same crap.

I was almost tempted to make an offer on the MC, but I don't think it would be a very fun experience.
