Hi all. I've been wanting to get one of these for a while. Brian's site has shown them out of stock for a long time. I have a friend with a vinyl plotter and all the right materials to do these right. He has to order 16 sign blanks to get them from the company he uses. Would anyone be interested in one of these at a price point of 25 plus shipping? He said if anyone is interested, he could add your name at no extra cost to customize it.

Post if anyone is interested or has questions on this. Would anyone be willing to pre order for him to get the materials? This is just in the gathering interest stage.

Disclaimer: I'm doing this so I can get my sign sooner, rather than later. If Brian is still making them, I don't want to step on his toes. Just offering since we have to buy 16 sign blanks.

Thanks,
Robert

Actually a new run was just started at the request of a klover. There will be 6 available of the run in the next couple weeks.

I would definitely like one of these. $25 sounds reasonable, I'll preorder if there is enough interest.

Intested

Hi - newbie here.

This seems like just the thing I need! I'm starting to get a little protective of my stuff and would like to post some rules - maybe "common sense" refreshers akin to "Everything I need to learn I learned in Kindergarten".

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.

Cool huh?
What does the "House Rules" say?

Thanks,
Chris in Jersey City

It just has the basics:

I'd love it if there were a more "practical" version of this sign for a home game room. "No gambling" seems out of place, and to a lesser degree, "no loitering" (don't we want to encourage people to loiter in our game rooms? :)). If there was a sign very similar with something that conveyed the idea of treating the games respectfully/gently, I'd be all over it. Heck, I'd love it if it also conveyed the message of not leaving the game room with tokens in your pockets, but I don't think there'd be much demand for that. :p

Thanks for the image.

I agree about the not loitering - most people tend to wander in and hang around.
Gambling: we host poker parties so that would have to go.

I need something like:

No kicking/punching the machines
Treat games like you own them - not stole them
No beverages/sticky hands
Share - little kids play first
Game room is PG - watch the swearing around kids

prOk, are these inkjetted? If you could easily run one-off's, and you have the right font for it, I bet the popularity of these signs would go up significantly. People might have to come up with the image they want in the "no" signs, but over time you might accumulate a decent selection of "ready to go" images.

I would definitely pay extra for a sign that is specific to my rules, and would be willing to work on adequate images.

I think these "House Rules" signs are a reproduction of what the The Time Out Tunnel had posted in their arcades in the 80s. If you want something different, just get a custom sign maker (there are several of these on ebay) to make whatever you want.

Yea, thing with these signs is they are a reproduction of the time out tunnel signs from back in the day. I don't print them, they are 3 layers of cut vinyl on 1/8th sintra board (PVC) for that authentic look. The vinyl just looks better, colors are more vibrant than a printer can do in this case even though it would be cheaper and faster to do them that way.

I have done custom ones in the past for people but right now the time just isn't there to make tons of variations on it so i'm sticking with the straight up reproduction.
