Hey everyone I had a quick question. How much do you think an original house of the dead arcade would fetch in todays market. My friend is considdering buying one for $900 its all original in good shape and in perfect working order. Here is a pic not of the actual cab but of an identical one. Thanks in advance for all your input.

Its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It looks like a huge game and it would probably be hard for most people to store one of these, so I doubt the value would reach a very high amount.

Actually width and height wise it takes up less space than a z back dynamo. It is a bout 2 1/2 feet longer but in all honesty it is dwarfed by most coin ops. Thanks for your input.

I'd love to have one of these. From what I've seen they stay a little on the high side pricewise. 900 seems a bit out there though, I'd figure 500-600. Thats a total guess though, and the conversions in the standard cabs go for less than the style pictured.

400-500 seems more on the mark. i was offered one for 500 a few days ago and passed, i could have probably closed the deal for 400

I doubt you would get it for $400-$500, but it couldn't hurt to try.

The game still makes good money on location, and still has value to operators.

$900 is not a a terrible price.

The "standard" version of the game Namco is selling is not the version that is in the picture in this thread. In my opinion the one being considered is a more desirable version.

The standard version is the version with the monitor inside an upright cabinet, like you see with Jurassic Park and HOD II. They really don't say anything about condition but I am sure they are not in perfect shape - they've been on location for 15 years. And, they are located in the Northeastern US, not California.

Like I said, $900 is not insane - this version of HOD comes up for sale around here sometimes and it's usually $900-$1100. Do people get that kind of money for it? I don't know. If it were me I'd offer less than $900.

FWIW, I could have bought a generic HOD cabinet for $100 a while back. Big mistake to have passed...

(the) House of the Dead - dedicated upright game $600-$900. Namco/Ebay price.

I paid more for this thing than I will for my Tron, even after restoring it.

I cannot keep them on the floor and we have never sold one for under 1700.00 I have been paying 400.00 to 700.00 for them. That is not a good price if the plastics are good and the original guns are there

There's a So Cal KLOV'r who was selling a HOD III for $1300 recently. Not sure if it sold, he lowered the price a few times.

It was in nice shape and had a new monitor.

Hell of a deal.

Just to add to the price debate, I picked one up(like the first picture with the "pedestal" that juts out) yesterday in perfect working condition for $350. Now I gotta figure out how to get it down to the basement!

Let me know how you got it down steps and post pic's if you can it should be entertaining for sure. I would hate to take one of those mothers down steps. I would not do it. Sell it to me I will give you 700.00 for it

Hey, I appreciate the offer, but I am gonna keep it. I plan on taking it apart(like I did with my Daytona Usa 2 player) and packing it down in as few pieces as possible. I will let everybody know how it goes!

I gave one away a few days ago. As far as the size goes its about as deep as a driving game so your not going to take up a lot of room with one unless you dont have the depth.

I'd say one in the shape as the one pictured is worth $700-$1000. If its got issues then $500 is about right.

The one I gave away had over 658,000 clicks on the coin meter! That game made a killing!!!

I think that the monitor section comes off of the cab. Take the monitor out and it should be an easy thing to get down stairs.

Thanks! From looking it over last night, that was going to be my first try.
