I have a House of the Dead machine, game works fine except for the guns won't register on screen. It used to on the player 2 gun shoot on screen fine, then all it would do is reload all the time, now nothing at all. The guns have both been tested on another working machine, could it be my power supply taking a crap on me? Thanks for any help...

voltage can certainly be an issue. make sure your +5 is at least 5.20 on this particular game (Sega and their damn massive hardware setups lol)

if the guns worked on another machine, then another area of interest (permitting the power supply setting doesn't correct it or isn't the problem) is to reset the gun calibrations to their defaults, see if that makes a difference.

if that doesn't get it, then I would start checking the wiring. I would know from our House of the Dead machine that the wires are very fragile and the insulation can fray or various other things... I found the wiring harness that goes into the guns can also have intermittent ground... I seriously just did away with those connectors entirely and soldered the wires directly to the optic board.

I'm leaning towards your power supply or your wiring being the culprit(s) here.

PM me if you have any other questions. I had to fuck with House of the Dead and Virtua Cop on a regular basis until I just combined all the good gun parts from the 2 games for House and installed Happ .45s on Virtua Cop. hardwiring House did the trick. I advise you get a hot glue gun if you haven't done so already... those stupid cap nuts Sega uses are a NIGHTMARE to get back in, so just glue them in. what I do for testing the guns is just wrapping the handle and the "barrel" with some masking tape until the problem's solved.
