just caped my ez20 in my vs smb cab and it looks great (btw screw cap kits this thing is god http://www.neiparts.net/tech_tools/capanalyzer.php well worth the price tag)

now after the caps installed my horz and vert position is not correct and since the sayanos do not have adjustments on the chassis i assum the vs boardsets adjust in a way close to the dk/mario bros boards
but none of the online manuals show these adjustments and the vs unisystem has like 6 pots on the board

anyone know how in the heck i adjust them

thanks in advance

Yes, the EZ20's have vertical and horizontal position adjustments to move the picture. Sometimes there is no jumper on the pins, so you'll have to add one. Just stick a jumper between center and ether UP or DOWN. Vertical positioning is done with a pot next to it...

cool thanks
i saw that jumper (white rounded looking molex with green wire)
while i was checking caps and replacing the ones that read low or bad didnt notice the pot tho
well tommorow morning hopefully my vs smb will be complete lol

modessitt

you know anyhting about trouble shooting a vs board that will only play on side 1

i was going to convert this vs smb back into a dk but after installing golf and castlevania in the board and sticking it in my red tent i get a blue screen on one side and the other works i get the same no matter what roms/daughter cards i use

I don't think you can use side 2 if you are using it in a Unisystem cab, unless you get Mark's Vs. Switcher kit....

im using the board in my red tent
i was going to convert the upright (vs smb) back into a dk
and then use the vs board from it to allow me to swap vs games in my red tent without having to swap roms all the time(and risk breaking chip legs)

after reading johns site it seems that the unisystem kits are the same boards as the red tent/dual system boards

so my problem is

i installed 2 sets of roms (vs castlevania and vs golf bolth known working rom sets) into the vs board that was in my upright vs smb cab
and installled that board into my red tent
no matter what i do (changing game locations ect) i get a perfect game on monitor player 2
but monitor player 1 only displays a blue screen
(this is on my red tent dual monitor machine)

so it seems i have a broblem with one side of the vs board
it is a mds-05-cpu vs board

i have checked for bad traces but thats about as far as i can go with my limited knowelage on these vs boards
i ahve done some board level repairs on mario bros and dk but the avail manuals online are nice and list each component on the board and somewhat of a disp of what that component does
so far every vs manual i have found just sucks as most are just conversion kit manuals for the vs unisystem

so i have a choice leave my upright as vs smb and not return it to its dk glory
or repair the board somehow so i can use it in my red tent

I'm sure you swapped video inputs to the monitors just to make sure it's not some funky monitor issue?

my other vs board works just fine in my red tent so i doubt its a vid problem unless it is at the edge conector on the problem vs board ill hit the finger board on the bad board with an eraser and see if i get any change

my main ? is what are the pots on the vs board for there is 6 or so of them and i cant make them out on the schematics
http://www.johnsarcade.com/vs_downloads/misc/VS_Schematic_(MDS-02-CPU).pdf

there are to many for them to be jsut vid pos adjustments like on dk and mario im wondering if they are voltage adjustments

mabey the pots got bumped for one side of the board and thats why its not working right

ok damn its getting late lol ill have to check back in tommrow

thanks for the help modessitt
