Doesn't every college student cobble together an arcade machine out of an antiquated Macintosh and hit empty Cup o' Noodle cartons? It's like a rite of passage.

Trashcade looks awesome. That only way it could be better is if the buttons were mounted in the cardboard.

Middle one... I don't think I need to say much.

I think the last one at least looks nice. It may not be the most functional thing in the world though.

Why not put 2 monitors into the "Tallcade" so you can properly play the Punch-Outs/Arm Wrestling/Playchoice/Sega, why sell yourself "short" on that necessity when you obviously have the room for them.

That last one is oversized but there's really nothing horrible about it. Sure, it's biiiig, and it would take a lot of people to fill it up, but it's a fairly conservative design and it has an appropriately large monitor. I wouldn't want it but if the creator plans to use it as a party machine I think it's pretty cool.

EDIT: Also, as a child I made a vending machine out of cardboard. It had a coin slot/box, shelves and everything. Only difference was you had to knock the food out with a baseball bat that was mounted halfway through, but... it was a lot worse than that trashcade.

Omg is all I have to say about the trashcade. I could possibly see a kid trying to make an arcade machine out of boxes but you know an adult did that. What is sad I bet a kid could do a better job at making one.

Trashcade - honesty is so refreshing.

Tallcade - Why? I just want to know...Why? Did he have the sides cut thinking he'd do a massive monitor, then change plans?

I've seen the build log on that big cocktail somewhere - while I wouldn't want it, it has several things going for it: It can play anything without having every control trying to be crammed into a small space (You'll see he's got sticks on one side, trackballs on others), and it functions as a perfectly good table when he's not playing.

It's to my taste, but I think it's nicely made and a lot better than some of the MAME boxes we see.
