Can you hookup multiple monitors to a typical arcade game?

I have a test bench I am building and I would like the jamma harness to
connect to my bench monitor as well as having the option to plug it into
an external monitor.

I'm sure I can hook them both up at the same time and only have one
on at a time but it would be nice if this wasnt necessary.

Depends on the monitors and the game board. The monitor has terminating resistors in it, so when you plug two of them into the same game board, you get a dim picture on both. Even if one of them isn't turned on. Sometimes it works OK though.

oh thats interesting.. didnt know that. So it a lack of amps that
would afffect it.

I was thinking about having my Commodore 1084s on the bench
and also having it wired so I could plug an arcade monitor in as well.

So if I wanted to have an bench/external switch I would need to
switch RGB and the two sync wires? Gound could be shared I assume?

Could I get away witch just switching RGB?

Running two monitor can be done.
The colors will be dim if just split up the wires.
You can compensate it by getting some sort of amplier in the video signal.

Switching can be done with a switch box. You can use a VGA, Serail Or even Printer port.
You just need to wire it up and get the right connectors.

You can use an eletronic VGA switch box with some custom cables.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I dug up an old printer switch box.. the rotary switch inside
should work perfect to switch the output.

Thanks for the advice.
