Hey all-
I had a quick question for anyone that has hooked up the Neo Geo 138-1. This cartride has a interface board that goes in between a Jamma Harness, and the Neo Motherboard. The interface PCB is a Jamma connector, but a Neo-Geo 2,4,or 6 slot isn't exactly Jamma. The sound output is different on the 2,4, and 6 slots, because of the stereo sound. Has anyone plugged the interface PCB into a 2,4 or 6 slot, that isn't exactly Jamma?

Looks like it needs to plug in between the harness and the MVS board.

The harness is close to Jamma, but not quite.

This is better.. I assume you will need a MVS to Jamma adapter for this one. If you get a 108 or 111 in 1, they are just carts and you don't need to mess with this.

Yup, it goes in between the MVS PCB and a Jamma Harness. The key word is a JAMMA harness. Any 2,4, or 6 slot PCB in a dedicated Neo Geo does not have a JAMMA harness. (very close, but the audio is pinout is different). I was wanting to know if anyone plugged in this catridge into a dedicated Neo Geo 2+slot using the original wiring in their machine.

Yeah, I have a two slot and it is different. If you get the 111 in 1, you don't have to mess with this. From the looks of it, you might be able to use a multi-slot board, but it will probably not be able to use the other slots. Also, you would need to adapt the MVS cabinet to this boards Jamma pinout.

BTW - Everything on their site say Jamma, including the straight MVS multi-carts. So don't know what to make of that. I do know that blkdog is selling his multi-cart because he can't use the other three slots with it in there. Would have to go look at the thread though to know which one he is having that issue with.

i have the 138 in 1 and a four slot. You just unplug the adapter/harness from the NEO board and then plug it into the 138 in 1 harness then plug that whole thing into the NEO board. It's quite simple.

The 138 in 1 worked with no problem in my four slot in the second slot but I could not add any other games.

And, I am selling my 138 in 1 for $100.00 shipped if anyone is interested.

So it doesn't need a Jamma harness right? It read like it did since they tagged the product as Jamma, but that is sort of like Engrish I guess to call something by an incorrect technical term. :)
