What's yer thoughts on Hook?

I've never played one, but I sure do like the theme and artwork on that machine.

I hear the repetitive sound samples are a deal-breaker. Is that right?

Owned it, liked it.

More of a simple game. Kids love it. The ramp is fun. Music is cheesy. repetition never got to me but it is there. For the right price I would own it again.

Not a great player, incomprehensible ruleset and yes, HORRIFYING audio. I've maybe only played a half dozen Data East's, but Hook was definitely not in the "good" column.

"I can fly! I can fly! I can fly! I can fly! I can fly! I can...." kill myself :p

Played it several times, and have a friend who owns one. Always kinda a "meh" game to me. Even after a fresh shop job on my friend's, I just couldn't get into it. Eats balls quickly, but may play better with a less than normal incline perhaps... Otherwise, just not much to do beyond ramp shots.

Much better DE pin's out there, but I do know some folks seem to like Hook for some reason.
