it seems hard or unbelievable ? except some "mtv cribs" where stars show their "little gameroom... rarely impressive !", and some hometheater (never something incredible...)

is there someone somewhere somehow who did the best part of these both worlds ? having a very good gameroom + a very good hometheater ?

except "hugh heffner" mansion... i have only memory of a german family who created a hometheater (for around 30 people) and next to it a bar (but there was only one generic arcade...)

i would love to see this in pictures/videos ! not you ???

there's guy here who has a sweet movie room, but I think it has just one Ms.Pac in it. Looks totally badass. Even one game put in the right place seems spot on.

in these pics I just removed about 12 or so games, I should have taken pics before moving almost all of them to storage, there are still a few more down there right now that they shot around.

I have on the drawing board as we speak the plan for the new detached three car garage for our house. The plan in a nutshell will consist of, three car garage on the ground level, finished space on the second level, ( mother in law apartment?????,HELL NO!! ARCADE!!!!)
And the below ground basement will be an Art Deco theater complete with concession area and a mini game room. To access the theater you will travel down a spiral stair in the main house to a access tunnel traveling under the yard and driveway.
The bad thing about this project is that I will not have any spare time for KLOV until the Queens yard is put back!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds awesome! Good luck on that. If I only had the room on my property... My finished, but boring, basement is serving as my game room, with the other half becoming a semi-home theater setup by this Winter. Eventually the attic will be finished and will become the "official" theater.

I'm with you on the tunnel idea, lol. That's awesome. I would be worried about building codes though, they may not allow you to build like that with no emergency exit. Or maybe they would! You've got to think though what if there's a fire in there and you've got four or five children in there playing games? There's ways around that though, because you'll also need a convienant way to get games in and out, so you could 'hide' an emergency exit door somewhere possibly.

I am in the design stages of an addition for the house. We don't have much room but I'm putting a theater and game room / bar in the basement. I figure it will be at least a year, if not more, before it is finished (if we actually have the balls to pull the trigger - it is going to be EXPENSIVE).

I have both. I actually got into the theater hobby before the arcade hobby. $$$ is right if you want to do it right. To put it into perspective, my surround prosseser(B&K Reference 20), alone cost me $1,700 used!!!

Oh I forgot to list that part. I plan to have a hatch in the garage floor for an exit and also let larger items down.

dj dns - what are the dimensions of your theater room? I am trying to decide on how much space I need and whether I can fit 2 rows of chairs comfortably. Looks really nice!
