How do I go about making my home arcade take tokens? What needs to happen to the coin mechs so they will accept the tokens?

Yes. All of my games run on tokens, and IIRC I don't have any .984 mechs. They're all quarter mechs I think. The easiest thing in my experience (nintendo mechs aside) is to use a hot glue gun to create a ramp that bypasses the reject slot. You'll also generally need to dremel the entrance to the coin mech because .984's won't fit into most quarter mechs. Sometimes the cradle at the entrance also needs a bit of tweaking. And if they're bi-metal coins, you sometimes will have to take the magnets out of the mechs. Feel free to PM me if you have any trouble. Not that I'm the klov expert or anything, but I've done about 30 games now. And if you have nintendo mechs to do, I posted in that thread about doing those. They're a pain and I can't claim to have it down to a science but all 3 of my nintendos are working fine with tokens.

I like the writeup. Personally I like minimizing the destruction of the mech and also keeping the process the coin goes through as similar to normal as possible, if for no other reason than to keep the sounds made by the coin the same. But everyone has different goals and that is obviously just as functional!
