Finally getting to the stage where I can complete my arcade. Will regularly post some pics with further progress. Here's where I'm at....been a lot of planning to get it to this point. Only regrettable thing is it is UPSTAIRS(but with a straight shot and a huge landing at the top). What's cool is that my breaker box for my house is right outside one of the walls so I'll have some dedicated 20 amp circuits with dedicated breakers for the games, which will leave the regular plugs in the room for lights, music and more. My brother-in-law is a master electrician and we've already planned it out. Have the black dot sequin material I always put in my music room walls and it looks great and reflective but still dark. I can fit about 11 games and my Space Duel Cocktail in the middle of the room how I have it planned. Games in my sig so far which is a great start.

I have tons of 80's metal pictures that are leftover that I cannot fit in my music room which is wall to wall full in there....but I'm thinking that I may leave that stuff to my music room and do more gaming related/movies/vector art in this room ....still haven't decided..but it's lookin' good so far. Very excited.IMG_2859.JPGIMG_2861.JPGIMG_2729.JPGMKQI9407.JPGIMG_2858.JPGIMG_2860.JPG

Looks pretty sweet.
Thanks man.....getting those games up the stairs is what I'm worried about lol....didn't go through all the work to make them pretty just to have them banged up on their journey to the arcade....screw the walls on the stairs, I can fix that...just save the games lol!

Very cool! Looking forward to seeing it with games in there. As for the stairs... well mine are in the basement so I have about 8 stairs from the side door landing to get them down (or back up). It's a pain, but you get used to it.

That looks super awesome. I'd probably want to sleep in that room

What's on the walls?
Hi:) It's black dot sequin black fabric. To get clean lines next to the ceiling/top border, I clean cut cardboard painted black....attach the fabric to it/over it so it gets a very square/clean line/border next to the ceiling and attach it to the walls using finishing nails. It really darkens the room, gives a cool effect while reflecting the lights without enhancing whites. Really makes the blacklights pop. When pictures go up, they cover the borders of the fabric and it looks like a uniform surface.

Asteroids on the ceiling is really sweet. Was this an art kit you got somewhere?
Thanks, here ya go:

Yes, man me too, very excited! :)...I'm going to be finished with them before Halloween(they'll all be active in the garage which I make a spook house with arcade games for Halloween...I'm doing all the maintenance on the last few of them. KI/Tempest/Team Play are 100% done, All of my gamesl run and are 100%, but I'm getting them solid and finishing and some further art touchup/restoring them(stargate is getting new monitor recap/fly service, redoing the power supply and upgrading the connectors...Stargate needs new feet/blocks too, Asteroids Deluxe I'm rebuilding the AR but it's done and looks great(needs new feet as well), Space Duel getting full K6100 and more overhaul but it runs great, just want them to be solid for the future). One flight of 16 stairs, but with a huge landing at the top...that room is right there by the stairs. When you walk up you immediately see the arcade. Thanks again
This is hot.
Thanks man:)

Oh i've been look at them for a while, and been hunting for a place to rent them locally but nothing. It's hard for me to justify the cost really, but I would definitely love one.

Curious, where did you get those black lights? Do they consume much energy?
Walmart actually.... Just don't use the hardware that comes with it to hang them(zip ties are magic lol....use two zip ties for each side of the blacklight to give you a loop to hang on a simple 1 nail picture hanger...no screws or drywall anchors needed less damage to the walls and easier). For about 11-12 bucks each, about energy...I have no idea...wouldn't think they would anymore than any other that uses this bulb.
