I believe a coffee book that showcases a ton of arcade machines already exists. I don't remember the name, but someone was showing it to me about a month ago. IIRC, it has a green cover.

A book about all the different people in the hobby would be, at least, a little different.

Law guys....

Could an arcade game book be made on the small scale/ self-published end and still legally display things like Pac-man, Namco logos, game screens, characters, Game names, Company Names?

Seems like if anyone tried to make a book for sale that even so much as showed a single picture of a Pac-man, there'd be a terrible lawsuit to the author.

man, i would by a copy of this book right now! if it had good professional pictures of the game roomsa and the owners as well, i think it would be really interesting. basic stats on each person, to show how many different people are into this. i would love to see that happen.

In about a week or so, there will be a fresh piece of literary meat for you guys to devour.

Here's a little teaser for the little coffee-table book I put together specifically in response to this thread. I will add more to this as I inch closer to the for sale date. I'll also be creating a fresh thread when it is ready for sale, just so you guys can all hop in and tear it apart.

And yes, this book includes tons of photos and appearances by tons of KLOVers and hobbyists. More to come...

Gozer to the rescue! Sign me up for a copy man! Even though a book about this topic is cool,I think a documentary would be even better.

Just following various hardcore collectors around in their collecting adventures and seeing all the trials and tribulations they go through and all the crazy places they have to go to find "that game." I think it would be pretty bad ass.

Shit,make THAT a reality show! It would be the best reality show on tv! Could you imagine filming some collector confronting a CL seller who just sold a game out from under him?! Classic!

Actually, we may not have to wait long for the arcade game reality show. We've got a collector in the group that has been in talks with a few channels regarding just a concept.

Yes, I promise I will give a good preview video or something when it's ready in a week. I might even show a cool spread in this thread to calm many of your nerves.

Before you buy, you will be able to preview the first 15 pages (although it won't be full sized, just thumbnailed).
