Holy shit! WOZ is a WIDEBODY!!!

maybe it's just me.. but i would never take a risk in pre-ordering a machine that i have never played or seen only because it's 500 cheaper. If i would not like the machine and sell it.. i would loose more than that 500. Why on earth would you do that....?

i pre-ordered my TRON LE before i saw pics/vids/anything. as soon as it was announced officially, i was on it. the theme alone did it for me....plus my gut told me that stern wouldn't eff this one up.

now that i've gotten it in my house i'm convinced that i was right in doing so.

it's amazing.

if i had the money, i'd be all over a WOZ too....assuming it comes out, i believe it could be epic.

Well....I guess "tronnies" is better than "tronsvestites", which is what I think that guy in that cosplay outfit might've been...

Well, it also seems that the LEs sold out, so you may not be able to get one very cheap later. (And it's "lose," not "loose"!)

my point was not really about the money... it was buying a machine without ever seen or played it. I was wondering if the money justified the risk. i am sorry my english is not perfect.... i am trying hard :)
But when a language is not your native language it can be hard.

^ You speak English better than a lot of Americans I know!

there's absolutely nothing wrong with your english.

I'm not privy to the details, but a few people who have spoken to Jack directly report that the game will be even more off-the-hook than the layout, whiteboard, and other tidbits revealed so far suggest. I have a WOZ On order--I think the team has enough talent and synergy, along with design philosophy (focus on making an awesome game rather than cutting corners) to make this a remarkable pin. There will always be games available on the aftermarket (or new regular editions) after it's out, so you can pick one up after playing. I think it was important to JJP to get enough pre-orders to help move this startup forward. Now it's full steam ahead.

Regarding language skills, I respect your efforts and abilities--your English here appears fine! Better than my best 2nd language (rusty French). (And, believe it or not, I generally insert these grammatical corrections so that people can learn from them and not repeat their mistakes, which also--selfishly--reduces the amount of eye/brain strain I get when reading them. Alas, many people just get upset at the messenger and ignore the message!)

It's interresting what will happen to the market with another player. And i hope they get a lot of support by the community. And believe me .. i really hope that WOZ will be the killergame everybody is hoping for. I think pre-ordering for the love of pinball is something noble. But it is a risk.

Now for your grammatical corrections. Let me tell you something. I speak dutch very well since it's my native language. And i correct people all the time when their dutch is incorrect... and believe me, dutch is hard to master even for the dutch so that happens all the time. I know people get annoyed by me, but i think you should always speak your own language correctly. So i have no problems with you correcting me :)

la prochaine fois que nous allons essayer en français. Je suis très mauvais en français, peut-être vous pouvez me montrer:)

Je comprend ce qui vous ecrire, mais that's about as much as I can help with! (and my response was probably off too! :) ) Funny, my last roommate in grad school was Swiss (southern part) and was fluent in about 6-7 languages including English (which was better than some native speakers). He got a professorship at U of Delft, with the caveat that he could teach in English the first year but had to learn Dutch by year 2. (Dutch was not one of his prior languages.) Needless to say, he did fine there. I am always impressed by fluent multilinguists. For me, I am still trying to get English right! (But I do take more than the average amount of care with it.) :D

OK, I'll add another funny one: my gf is native Russian with impeccable English. But she can talk to her family in Russian when she doesn't want me to know what's being said (only occasionally). I actually understand a fair bit, but continue to play dumb over the years. I discovered that she cannot follow pig latin, so I use that as my 'secret' language when talking to others around her and don't want her to follow the conversation! :D It really messes her up--you just have to remember to use short words whenever possible.

Yes, it's a big leap, sight-unseen. I can technically afford woz but I can take 7k and turn it into a 2-month-long, multi-continent vacation. ;) I would need quite a bit more fun money to make that big a leap.

I hate traveling and love pinball....I guess that's why I don't mind spending money this way...lol :)
