Today I received a G05-Cap Kit with transistors form Bob Roberts, the only thing is the transistors are huge.

I'm a little confused here...

Do I affix the new giant transistors to the heatsyncs of the little ones and use wire to attach them to the board? Seems like a little much; especially considering I'm pretty sure none of the current ones are bad.

Hmmm, interesting. I never thought of that as a possibility; I guess I just assumed they were for the deflection board, haha.

Ugh; I hate removing these monitors from the game.

I actually laughed out loud on that one. Don't take it personally. ;-)

Dont worry haha :)

You will want to take the monitor out of the game to replace them in case you haven't figured that out yet :)

And be sure to test that you DON'T have continuity between the transistors and the frame once installed. At the suggestion of Modessitt, I didn't really scrape of the older insulator guk or apply any new and just put the new plastic insert on and then tightened up the transistor.

Hopefully that made sense.

If thats for Asteroids Deluxe, you have it easy! Just take out the 2 bolts that hold the monitor shelf in the back, then literally just slide the whole monitor out wood shelf and all! You can leave it on the shelf while you replace the transistors and put it back in. Takes a minute!
