HOLY CRAP. I just picked up a mostly working Pinbot for 200$. =O

I replaced my board with a Rottendog board. It is expensive at $300, but if there are problems with the board, it is nice to have a fully functioning one to put in there. Older versions of the RottenDog board apparently had an issue with Pinbot, but the fixed version is out now. My original board had a lot of acid damage, and I just wanted a better one for this game since it is a keeper for me.

I was one of the unlucky ones that found the issues with the original Rottendog board. The sling and bumper actuation was reversed.

Does the new board have dipswitches on it to select the game you're using it on? I'm interested in the fixed version of this board because it will actually work in 2 of my machines, allowing me to have a single spare for both.

Thanks

I was able to use the key from my Shuttle to unlock the glass. :p

Some really old batts in there, lol. I'd guess they're at least 5-10 years old. Alkaline. Yay. No acid leaks that I saw though. Pulled them out. Boards look pretty good. I've *got* to get bolts though. I laid the head down before I left for work.

The only thing that's been holding the head up is that little clip in the back. It's damaging some of the wood the support riser square is attached to because it can't properly support the weight. I'm afraid it will just splinter and come crashing down at some point.

Anyone know what the actual bolt sizes are so I can run to Home Depot or something without having to order them from Pinball Life? Trying not to have to place a parts order just for rubbers and bolts...need to clean it up first anyways.

Think I found the right bolt size from a post from Ken like a year ago, lol. *thumbsup*

It as a Dip Switch, but I am not sure of the settings. Here is a pic:

Thanks... That is definitely revised. Its crazy because another guy and I went around-and-around with them trying to get it rectified. He wound up buying my board back at Allentown when he realized it couldn't be fixed by clipping caps or a ROM revision.

He told me the new board would have DIPs on it (this was last Fall), but they don't show it on the web page and also show that its out of stock. I never would have known it was released if you didn't mention it after going through all that!

Congrats on the score. (Should have talked her down another $50 ha ha).

In the second pic is that one of those prize-every-time machines with the chicken and a bunch of plastic eggs?

There's a similarly nice looking, completely dead pinbot near me that the seller is asking $900 for. the orange ramp has it's point broken off at the top but looks functional. some of the decals on the center 'bot have been trimmed back where they curled up. a few scratches and dents. Board issue suspected by the seller, Now reading this I wonder about battery damage. what's it worth?

I would say 900 is way too much. I would pay 900-1200 for one that was in GOOD working condition (mine has some mechanical stuff...easy to fix just cost of parts and time), clean, very little wear, and good pcbs with no obvious damage. Just accept the broken spiral as a way of life. 90% of them seem to be roken and the other 10 is only a matter of time.

Missed one a few weeks ago for 500 that wasnt powering on and had bent carboard hood but supposedly had pristine playfield.

Also, personally, I value the backglass more than te translite but thats purely a personal choice.
