Holy crap, I actually won my first game off eBay

You could tell him you are nervous because of the NO PCB statement in the auction. You could tell him to re-list it BIN for the price you won it at but without that statement (or better yet have him include the statement "INCLUDES WORKING PCB" or something to that effect... and then BIN... that would at least protect you to some extent.

That said... if it were me... i'd walk.

Hi all,

I offered to go pick up the game for Drewser tomorrow. That way he can be sure he gets everything promised in the auction, and I can do a decent job of packaging it for shipping. Waiting for his response...

Seems reasonable enough.

I see a game that can be restored with some TLC. Isn't that what it's all about?

If you want the PCB checked out and repaired, I would be more than glad to do it for you N/C - I am in Illinois so I can get the PCB before you have the cab shipped to you and ship it to you after it was gone over. My gift to see a Warlords CT brought back to its former glory.

Personally, I think you're being an ass for not buying what you agreed to buy. You bid, then you let a bunch of cheapskates talk you out of paying.

What?

Be a man. I know you can do it.

So you're saying that if the cab shows up without a PCB you're going to take care of that problem for him?

Fantastic offer Bill! I'd be all over that.

My God, what a community this is. I will be in contact with some of you in just a hot second :D

No Frizz, I'm saying he bid on a game without a PCB, as stated in the auction ,and now doesn't want to pay.

How your'e alright with that I don't know. Must have never sold anything.

The seller told me the game was complete and has the PCB. Either way, mjenison will be checking it out and picking it up for me. If theres no PCB unlike the seller told me, no deal. If its complete, the deal will happen.

That game looks very original and untouched.

I have never seen those ziptie things that hold the edge connector on the PCB on any of my games. Could it be that the connector has never been off the PCB?

Maybe, but you can reattach them, they come apart and go back on. I think a lot of the Atari stuff had those.

BTW, my whole point is: the buyer made a mistake when he agreed to buy it, on the guy's word on the phone... he enterted into a contract on ebay with different terms.

NOW he's considering negating the contract he signed, because he made a mistake.

That is high school girlish behavior, not man behavior. You agreed to a contract. Honor it. Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you should give up your manhood to save yourself 100 bucks. I've never in my life agreed to buy something, and then not bought it, that's shameful behavior in my opinion.

Alright, you know what? Screw it. I am not gonna take a chance. Youve all convinced me that it isnt worth paying good money to possibly get screwed. Id rather pay good money for a known good game.

See, this is why I love this place. :)

I'm shocked. You are not the type to back out of a deal.

Ive had people back out of ebay auctions and it sucked "BUT" It wasnt because i misrepresented the item i was selling. This guy clearly did, just take your unpaid strike and let it go if your nervous about it. OR if you have alot of $ laying around ready for this purchase, go for it. heres what people say about it on the ebay forums:

Again, another very generous KLOVer is going to check it out for me. I planned on backing out, but since Ill have someone trustworthy inspecting it for me, I will not back out if everything is A-OK.
