please, are there some historical arcade videogames price lists? I mean how much did certain new videogame kit/cabinet cost back in the day.
I found only very little information about this topic. I think that a common cabinet was something like 2-3k bucks. Is it correct?
How much did usually a (new) conversion kit cost?
Were there big differences in the new game prices or were they very similar?
Thanks a lot.

Here's the prices of certain games, new and used, taken from several ads in the classified pages in the back of the September 1981 issue of RePlay.

Battlezone (regular) 1275
Battlezone (open faced) 1475
Asteroids 1975
Targ 1225
Rally X 1875
Rally X cabaret 1750
Galaxian 1695
Star Castle 1795
Space Invaders 895
Deluxe Sp Invaders 945
Atari Football 300
Atari Subs 400
Sundance 400

One ad, from Dixie Amusements, in Biloxi MS, mentions hot games like Defender, PacMan, Centipede, Asteroids Deluxe, and Space Fury, but prices aren't listed, it just says "CALL".

The buy who lives across the street from me claims he had a arcade back in the day, he told me he also had games in all the 7/11 stores in the area. He told me he never payed more then $500 for pinball machines. He claims that they were new for that price.

But important thing is not to forget the inflation (buying power) :) How much did the money value decreased between 198x -2012. Maybe even 200-300 %? I dont know exactly.

If I could go back in time I'd buy a shitload of Sundances and Subs, I'd make 10x my money on them now!

I do believe if you injected even 10 Sundances into the marketplace today it would go from being a $5000 game to a sub $1000 game.

Of course it would also be rather costly to come up with enough period cash to even be able to purchase them in the first place.

Of course if you just went back and invested the same $400 you would have $3500 today.
