High-Speed ramp switch, help needed! Have pictures...

On my HS the first switch on the ramp sometimes wont kick the ball in the hide out (hideout #1) thus resulting in a 2-ball multi instead of 3-ball multi-ball as this switch wont kick the ball in the hideout. I can't seem to get to this switch as it in the metal casing on the ramp underneath I can push my finger up there on the switch but can't see, I'am not confident enough to disassemble this ramp, first off what is holding the habitrails to the ramp? Those habitrails wont disassembly as those screws (pictured) wont budge. Sometimes theres no problem with this switch and sometimes like now there is. Any ideas and some help, HS owners how do you disassembly this ramp and get to these switches? Take off Habitrails? ? Thanks

You should try the macro setting on your camera. The icon will look like a flower. I think it's called macro anyway...

Don't be afraid to take stuff apart. Just make sure you either make notes or remember how to put it back together. Pictures help too... but use the macro mode on close-ups ;)

Also would help to use a tripod, gorilla pod,or even just a chair or stool to steady your night shots :) Put it on timer mode like your going to take a picture of yourself and family, that way the camera will be PERFECTLY still.

It's practically impossible to take a focused night shot using just your hands.

Here's some night shots I took of my HSII.

Not sure about your problem though..Test the switch in test mode to start...put a ball in there..does the switch close when a ball's in there?

Ya on start up theres no error report message nothing, did all the test modes and reported nothing on display. For the life of me I can't get these habitrails off to take the ramp off to flip it over to look at the switches, the screws are like welded and my power drill can't get a good angle to bust'em loose , but do the screws remove the habitrails? thanks

That metal cover under the ramp covering the switches comes off with 2 phillips screws located on the front of the plate (about 2 1/2 inches apart) , you do not need to remove them just loosen them, the plate is notched and will drop down.. This may help you a little with seeing what is going on. Check for a bad micro switch (use switch test) or a broken wire on a switch.

Thanks, but I'am not understanding the part that you say the plate is "notched" and will fall down...ok, well how do you put back and have it "notched back up"? What do you mean by notched? How do the habitrails come off from the ramp? I tried and those screws are STUCK. Why dont my manual have this assembly of the ramp for, there is nothing listed? High Speed owner's please help? Thanks Jeff

Jeff, That steal piece that shows up in your 2nd and 3rd picture will come off easy, just loosen the 2 screws and it will fall down.

I appreciate that, thanks, but how do the habitrails dismount from the ramp? Theres a little play there back and forth but they wont just "pop out"! Thanks, Jeff.

I wasn't trying to be perfect in the picture taking part, as I just wanted to show location I was talking about. Didn't want to get all into taking museum type pictures and being all fancy. I was simply locating a area for which I was having a question on. Those were just "quick" snap shots. I like the photos of your HS II those are nice, and great collection of pins--- WOW!

So can anyone help with the removal of the habitrails that connect to the ramp? Anybody who owns or has owned this game? I know you had to have taken these off, I can't get mine off and in the process have slightly cracked my ramp now as nothing is coming apart. This is really getting frustrated as I would like to check the switches on the ramp also clean and wax under there, and to replace the rebound rubber thats back under the ramp as well. The ramp and habitrails are not budging :( the 2 screws are not moving and the angles to get to my power drill can't fit with the habitrails in the way. This has got me real upset as I ruined my ramp in the process of this and not fun like it is suppose to be. thanks. Jeff

I just cracked this damn ramp, trying to pull up on it with the habitrails still attached as the 2 screws wont budge I wanted to just say fuck it and leave them attached and proceded to take it all off in one piece and too much weight or what but the damn ramp cracked all the way through, habitrails still connected to ramp were obviously heavy for this procedure and now at a loss. I know the ramp is a hard item to find, and now I screwed up Big Time. The manual has nothing regarding removal of this ramp nothing, I' have searched and have come up with nothing. But yet people are more worried about my pictures out of focus when all I was trying to do is just give location of what I was talking about.

I have the same problem sometimes with my ramp, but I haven't had a chance to try to fix it yet.

I can help with the cracked ramp though. Try Plastex http://plastex.home.att.net/

My ramp was had a crack about 5 inches long, and this stuff fixed it great.

You have a High-Speed? It is the switch on the ramp I need to attend to, and like to remove and replace the rebound rubber and of course clean the area back there since I have everything off. I need to get it off if someone has a trick? Please help, anyone in the Phoenix area? Jeff

OK, so here is how to remove the top ramp and rails from High Speed, from memory.
First, remove the plastics from the middle of the metal ramps/guides.
Undo the screws that hold them down, lift up and pull forward out of the upper plastic ramp.
Remove the 2 countersunk screws at the base of the ramp and 3/4 other screws around it that go into the play field.
Remove the traffic light and lay it off to the side.
Remove 2 screws at the very top of the ramp, the metal plate, one is under the left diverter paddle.
I think you can now move the plastic ramp around and see the switches.
To change the rubbers, you need to slide the old ones off around the switch wires and slide the new ones over, use a screw driver to stretch them into place.
Its tight in there and you need to keep cleaning your hands to keep the new rubbers clean. The kit from Action Pinball was perfect.

Awesome thanks Kevin, you said--- "remove 2 screws at the very top of the ramp, the metal plate, one is under the left diverter paddle". I Just looked and those screws are missing :( what size screws are these as I can go to a hardware store and pick up some? My hands a very large and I'll have my wife get in there as I have a tough time with my hands and fingers big and fat, lol.
