Hello Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am new to this forum, and looking forward to "getting to know" the community on here. My husband Shawn and I have been collecting classic games for a bit now and hope that you guys will be excited with what we have going on...

We are opening a classic gaming spot, called High Scores, at 348 High Street, Burlington, NJ.

Right now, these are the dedicated games we have:
Asteroids Deluxe
Space Invaders Deluxe
Star Wars
Centipede
Leman's Racing
Scramble
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr
Track n Field
Punch Out
Joust
Karate Champ
1973 Williams Spanish Eyes Pinball
World Champion Baseball
Jungle King
Paperboy

We also have mint Burger Time and Pac-Man cabinets featuring 48-in-one collections, a 108 game Neo Geo, as well as some of the better titles from the 90s. All games are set to Twin Galaxies tournament settings.

If you're in South or Central Jersey and are passionate about these games, we invite you to come out for quarter play and to set a high score. But first! We need your help.

Our town is concerned that a classic gaming spot might be a "draw" for the wrong kids to "congregate." We need to educate them that the classic gaming community is a passionate group of adults who are showing reverence to the golden era of gaming.

On July 28 in Burlington City, we go before the land use board to argue the benefits of a classic gaming center. If you are interested in coming out to support us, please hit us up with an email at [email protected].

Hope to see you!
Meg

Cool! I'm not too far from Burlington, I'd stop by all the time. Keep us posted.

Good luck with your classic gaming arcade. If you frequent these message boards you'll become familiar with the constant request for "pics please".

I'm sure we'd all love to see pictures of your games and space.

Did you tell them the "kids" that are going to congregate will probably all be 35 to 45 years old? ;) I'm right across the river in PA... First Richie K's place, now this. This is great news!

Good luck. Judging by your list I find it really hard to believe that teenage kids would want to hang out and play games. Adults, yes. Really young children, yes. Teenagers that play Xbox 360 and PS 3 really don't care much for 30 year old games. I find it funny that these folks of your town are thinking of arcades in the 80's mind set.

You came to the right place for support Meg. I hope everything works out for you. It would be great for another classic arcade to open. It won't really be a kids hang out, they may come for a few, realize that their xbox is better, then split. You'll draw the 30-40 crowds. Good luck!!

I'd certainly check the place out. Great to have another place to play the classics!

Good lookin out

Hey guys - Thanks for the support. We too think its funny that the peeps in our town are imagining Spaceport at its greatest - we're in our 30's and are truly doing it for people who love these games (we live upstairs, so we get to be owner/operators) so we're looking forward to welcoming you guys in. As soon as we get over the hump on the 28th and get our doors open!

Love to Richie Knucklez place - the condition of his stuff is top notch.

I'll post pics soon as a follow up...

Retro Arcade Museum Closed

Hi Meg,

Please visit my website at www.retroarcademuseum.com. Small town politics and an old pinball law forced me to close after 18 months and tremendous popularity. All I ever did was good for my town and this was the thanks I got. A labor of love turned a dream into a nightmare. I'll be forever grateful for the wonderful visitors from around the globe, reporters, columnists and fans who have visited me. Anyway...I'm selling it all. Feel free to call or write to discuss.

Fred
