I have 4 games that do not save high scores. Gorf, Wizard of Wor, Star Castle and Armor Attack. I've come to the conclusion these games will likely NEVER have High Score save kits created for them... so I figured I better come up with my own way of doing things.

My solution:

I picked up a couple $3.00 dry erase boards (metal) from Walmart... some chain and a couple hooks and there ya go. I do need more chain so they hand lower... I simply hang one above Gorf/Wizard of Wor (between them as they are side by side)... and plan on doing the same with Armor Attack/Star Castle ... which also are side by side.

I like it, but think you should make the marquee's use up more space (unless you're going to put more than just the top score)

Doesn't it suck when some of your games just won't cooperate? For me, it is Stunt Cycle and Gaplus. No High score save or Freeplay. I can get free play done on Stunt Cycle, but need to find a second board to mess with first. I probably can't do anything about high scores, but since 27 is the highest score possible, probably not too big of a deal. Maybe I can make up a little plaque or something and add the names of whoever finishes the game. My solution for Gaplus is to try to trade it or sell it. :)

You might want to try making game toppers that you can write on for version 2. That could look pretty good.

These are great. No soldering required. Easy assembly. Will you be putting these into production? :)

Pretty much universal too...

For games without FREEPLAY (I am looking at you Star Castle and Armor Attack)... I use:

Momentary Switch Lock found at Twisted Quarter.

That is a good idea, what do you do, wire it up to the coin switch and then leave the key in the slot?

Gottlieb used that same solution in 1962 on Flipper Clown. with a large white area stating high score, on the backglass.

Assume it was for grease pencil, but the kids just use dry erase marker.
