I originally was not going to do this, but for various reasons I am reconsidering.

I will let you guys decide...
I don't have a 6pac (something tells me Mark would not sell me one if he had them in stock)
So I don't have a need to do this, but I know the community wants it.

What I do need is some parts for my Donkey Kong (about $160 worth), so here is what I propose. if 16 people make a $10 or more donation from my website (http://arcade.souzaonline.com) then I will update the rom. You will still need to add in the nvram but as far as the 6pac goes it would be just a rom swap.

i will also throw in a DS1220 nvram and pay for shipping in the US to anyone that donates if you want one (just put in the comment if you want one). If at the end of the weekend if people want it then I will do it, if not then I will refund the money <Mark insert snarky comment about being a thief here>

Let me know what you guys think

Are you ok with wiring a larger eprom on the board and running the bootleg Ms Pac code or are you looking to run the original ms pac code and just swap out eproms?

Running the bootleg code is easy, updating the original ms pac code is a little more difficult since the roms on the daughter board is encrypted (unless someone has a good way to encrypt and decrypt there some at will)

I have a heard a lot of people want it for just pac-man or Ms. Pac. It may be a future project.

Wow....you've got some brass cahones...that's for sure.

Not sure what your issues is... I got about 20 request from people asking me to do this.
Mark never chimed in saying he had an objection to it (he obvioulsy read the thread since he commented on it). So I assume he does not have an issue with it and since all of the changes are in Pac-man code and not his code and I don't see him as owning the intellectual property... what's your problem?

So what's your problem?
Is it providing something that many people are asking for?
Is it proposing some compensation for something I really don't care to do?

If people really want it, then it will happen... if they don't then it won't.

Wow....you've got some brass cahones...that's for sure.

Let me say this....

There is a Braze Kit out there, right. I propose you call this one the Brazen Kit.

You seem to elude to the lack of ethics of what you're doing here given your parting shot in the original post. So, I am not sure what you want me to explain to you.

Wouldn't you accomplish the same thing by adding Pac Plus Fast/Slow to you 4-1 hack, making it a 6-1 hack? Your OP seems calculated toward sticking your finger in the guy's eye.

Your sense of entitlement to other peoples' IP is staggering.

For someone who does not really appear to contribute anything to the hobby, you certainly have the most negative (although cryptic) comments of anyone. What exactly have you done to contribute anything positive to this hobby?

personally him doing this does not bother me one bit. mark uses other peoples work tweaks it puts his email address on it then makes money so who cares mark does the same damn thing.

Staying original and just swapping eproms would be best case for me personally...

Thanks for bringing the thread back. It is possible for regular Pac-man, it would be too much work with the encrypted roms for real Ms Pac-man (for me anyway)

Well, it looks like it can not easily be done because of the design of the 6Pac (Smart design though, very efficient... too efficient actualy for the purposes of this exercise). Pac and Ms Pac versions are doable but it looks like there is not enough free space to get it to work with Pac Plus. So unless anyone wants a 6Pac with 4 games saving high scores and 2 games not saving high scores I guess we are done.

Actually, it's very wasteful... I could have easily done a few code mods and fit it in a 27010 instead of a 27020, but I just wanted to get it out the door -- I guess you're not that clever.

I vote for this too. A simple mod to add high score save on a regular pac/mspac board.

I say no to the 6pac HSS. If Mark wants to add it he surely has the ability to do so if/when he desires.
