Hi, made my account a bit ago to view message attachments, and now joined the forum. I love arcade machines and working on electronics. I don't own any machines myself, but have been offering freelance work for one arcade near me for a couple months, primarily restorations on failing CRTs.
One side project, part of the motivation for activating my account, was reverse engineering the schematic of Donkey Kong 3 and creating an open source one, and possibly a replica PCB (may want to get my hands on an original one first to really do that). One of the struggles I've been working through was squinting at the only, blurry, schematic there is online.. my hopes are, possibly, if anyone out there had a service manual in good shape to scan a good high resolution copy (or even a picture with a good phone would work). The idea of building an arcade PCB from scratch myself is infinitely fascinating, and only made more alluring by all the jellybean TTL chips and such... It would also very nice for the community to have a new board and even just a nicer schematic to reference, if someone's is damaged or even beyond repair. Sorry if the intro page isn't the best place to ask.. but it would be my first post anyway; any help is appreciated!

Heya there yaruni, welcome to the forum. Love your first post. You will learn the ropes in time. This hobby is an addicting one for sure. Looking forward to hearing about your first electronic project involving the preservation of games. There are a scattered bunch of manuals out there that you can find via Google search that range from good quality to poor. KLOV search isn't the greatest :(.

Keep pressing forward and ask questions!
