Hi...

I'm a long time reader, first time poster. I've only started my collection, with an X-Men vs. Street Fighter , minus the cabinet because I'm very limited in space right now and it would be very difficult to move a cab up here (living in an apartment and not the first floor either). but I am enjoying playing this game because I spent plenty of quarters on it at the arcades and it never received a good home console port, so even though it may be considered "newer" by some it is a classic to me. ;)

Playing it on a supergun currently, but I am thinking of building my own mini-cabinet, sometime soon. I have a few (read: many) questions, but I won't hijack my "Hello" post with them. I intend to collect all the classic games that I remember from my childhood arcade adventures, as well as any games I think are unique and interesing, but I need more space first. :)

Some of the collections I've seen from users here are amazing, and rival some small arcades I've seen! I might never have that many games, but I still love the arcade the same. Look forward to sharing the gaming love with ya'll here! :)

Welcome sir.

Superguns are handy in tight quarters, but sadly, it just makes you want to physically own the dedicated cabinet. The smell of the old wood, the glare of the marquee light in your eyes, the reflection of your face of on the glass bezel, not to mention the arts.

Perhaps there is a good solution to your space problem? A mini cab is a good idea. Tabletops are also good for space. Hell, I've even seen pics from members here where they've mounted a flat panel into a super thin cabinet.

welcome,im new here too,i live in an apartment as well and trust me you can make room.
ya'll?? where you at? its not in your profile has to be down here with us southern guy's some where.

I'm down in the sunshine state (yeah right! as it's been raining here for the last 2 weeks) but I lived in Georgia previously so I have a bit of country south in me. ;)

I guess I should fill out my profile to avoid confusion! :D

@gozer5454: You're right, SG's are quite handy especially now for me! I do understand what you are saying though about the whole experience of the cabinet, putting a coin in and hearing it drop down into the cashbox as you receive a credit is a special thing, I guess I could buy a coin acceptor and wire it in to the credit switch on the supergun, that way I could have the best of both worlds! :)

I am planning to build a mini-cabinet, but I need to brush up on all the little details first, I am definiteley new to all of this... I could probably cut the wood alright as I have done some woodworking before, but the electrical wiring seems complex. (I had to follow a manual to wire up the supergun!) Electrical wiring is not my strong suit at all. I will need many HOWTO's and FAQ's to attempt a cabinet!
