Hey John aka blkdog7, bout time for you to get a new game eh'???

Man it's been a while since I've seen a OMFGWTFBBQ posting from you. You better get a new game.. your videos are classic. That is all!!

Ha, thanks for noticing!

Actually, I have been quite busy lately, just nothing that is OMGWTFBBQ worthy. I have bought 2 cabs in the past two weeks and also got a third working.

I bought yet another Toobin' (after I sold mine a few weeks ago). I picked it up because I need the monitor from it for my Paperboy, and it was dirt cheap. Good-bye disco, hello WG. I also bought a Moon Patrol that was converted to some lame Baseball game. Also bought that for the monitor to go in my Tapper. I just love WG monitors.

I also got a new (second) DK. Not sure why. But, I did. And, it's gonna be one bad arse DK when I am done. Almost done... about to install the side art, paint the black, black and stick some new t-molding on it. It's one of the best original DK cabinets I have ever seen. Awesome original BLUE.

I also committed to something today that is OMGWTFBBQ worthy but I don't have it yet, so no post, just yet...

Here are some photos from my recent snags (and the current state of the garage. The APB is not mine, storing it for a friend.):

You gonna swap monitors and then resell the toobin ? I don't know if that baseball game is worth trying to resell , you should multicade it , or use it as a Jamma cab .

Nice pickups John. It's good to see you're still improving your basementcade. You should consider converting that DK to D2K. I believe Jeff F is selling his full kit. I'm hopefully picking up a new game real soon. Not sure if it's OMGWTFBBQ caliber, but it was one of my favorites. :)

Yeah, I am gonna swap Toobin' monitors and then sell the Toobin' working and complete. It's actually in good shape.

The Moon Patrol Baseball is a good multicade candidate, otherwise it's a full stencil restore which doesn't sound fun. Again, just bought the cab for the 4900 that is in it. So, ot sure what I'll be doing with it. Probably will just give it away.

I was thinking about making a D2K but I just don't think it is necessary and it takes up an extra slot in the basement. I already have a cabinet with Donkey Kong and D2K on one board, why do I want another? :)

So, what are you getting!!?!? :)

You can't play both correctly though.
DK needs 3 lives, DK2 uses 6. Those kits use one live number for both games.

Just do it.

Wait DK2 uses 6 lives? Is that why I suck at it... I always assumed it was 3. For a while I thought DK was 4, because that's how I got it. When in doubt I consult TG now.

The TG settings is 6 lives.

You can change the live setting on boot. I do it all the time if I am gonna play some D2K.

Hey, cool Domino Man cab. I know an Extreme Message Poster here in Cali looking for a DM.

If you're playing DK2 though and want to switch to DK, you reset the machine? That's an awful lot of bs to play one game.

You know the right thing to do....

I know it's not practical to have both, but think about the benefits. You don't have to reboot to change the lives setting, you could have two people playing DK during parties (if one person who is playing is ridiculously good and will be on the machine for a good 1-2 hrs) and best of all you'd own the dedicated art from TOG. But I know space is valuable and you will do what's best for you. :) I don't want to say what I may be getting yet. I don't want to jinx it. ;)

Everyone is horrible at D2K and it rarely gets played. I love it, but I am the only one who ever plays it. I just don't see a need for it. Sorry, I'd rather save the slot for a pin than add another Ninty (which I already have!). :)

Yeah I agree . Why use up the space when you can already play the game 100% with the right joystick and all .

Personally I think DK2 is a cool game ......but not worthy of its own cab in my arcade because its not an Official Nintendo game and Shigeru Miyamoto had nothing to do with it .
