Hey.. I actually finished something (48-1 cocktail)!

Being very good at getting things to 90%... not so good at the last 10% I'm pretty chuffed that I followed through and finished this one :)

When we met... this guy was a poor converted and tossed aside capcom bowling. I picked it up for a great price ($50) from a fellow KLOV'r complete except for a coin door.
- I stripped it all down, sanded and filled the divots.
- Recovered the sides (using the $20 vinyl from parts-express (which,
although not as good as the "good stuff", worked out well IMHO).
- Repainted all the metal parts.
- Built new control panels (using panels from arcadeshop)
- Replaced the monitor with a 19" PC monitor (save the 4600 for a classic).
- Installed a new harness and power cord ($15).
- Installed some blue CCL lights to light up the control panels.
- Installed a new underlay (from Phoenix Arcade, as were the CPOs).
- Got a new tempered glass top ($60 from a local glass company).
- Installed clear corner guard along the bottom edges to protect the
corners ($5 from Home Depot).
- Put in a 48-1 board..

Almost like a restoration, but not (obviously)...
Some more pics are on my picasa page http://picasaweb.google.com/timiskander/MultigameCocktail# for those who want to see.

Looks awesome, great job!

Is there a seam in the new vinyl or did you have a roll wide enough?

-Tom

The new vinyl was 24" wide and the widest part of the cab is like 22", so no seams :) (that was a definite requirement when looking for vinyl).

Very, very nice. I need to begin on mine...

(Gonna make a multicade as well, but I'm going to build it from scratch - but same style - Galaga/Ms.Pac CT style...)

Thanks for the kind words guys! Very motivational :)
I've put together about 9 or 10 multigames so far, but this was the first one I did to keep.
cheers

Nice job on the multi! Also, nice job actually finishing it. I think a requirement for this hobby is to be ADD and get distracted as soon as you get them in the house.
