Hey guys how much would a Michael Jackson Moonwalker Arcade be worth?

yah moonwalker is a fun game! its not my grail of a game but the sound track and gameplay makes it allmost up there to grail.... maby gold or diamond.. but not the grail

On another MJ topic, Captain EO is returning to Disneyland. It's replacing Honey I Shrunk the Kids.

I'd love to have Moonwalker in a 3 player dedicated cab. It's a fun game that I played back in the day, and the music is great. As for the conversion in the original post, I'd pay $250 for it and slap on a different cpo.

i nevr had the chance to play it in the arcade but i really enjoy the genesis port

then again ive heard a few people say the genesis version was a better game then what was in the arcade

That is HILARIOUS! As Captain EO was REPLACED by "Honey, I shrunk the AUDIENCE". I wonder if they will do the same at Epcot in Disney World as well, as they did the same there.

As for Moonwalker, RLEVIN will build you one with ALL NEW parts for only $5,999.00. ChooChoo Pinball has been offering that sweet deal up on Ebay ever since Jacko died. They have been using a picture of the original dedicated 3 player cabinet (probably lifted from here on KLOV), but the "auction" states that it would be an all new game. It seems to insinuate that they never bothered to actually BUILD it, but if someone is willing to put up the 6 grand, they would be willing to start working on it.

The best part of the game is the cutscenes in between levels. Particularly after the first level, when they start playing the "smooth criminal" music, and a box with a cartoon version of Michael's (somewhat still black) head scales up on the the screen and he screams "P-Koooooow!". Pure gold...

Here is a dedicated MJMW that went for $1500.00 on ebay.

That one's not even dedicated. It looks like it's in a 3-Koam 3-player cab instead of the dedicated one that Sega used for this game. As was mentioned before, the music is badass. The game is SUPER short though. It's not quite Altered Beast, but it's over pretty quick. Also, it kinda bugs me that "Bad" is used twice in the game and that "Smooth Criminal" is the only dance attack song. It doesn't really make sense when "Beat It" is playing for the level and then you start dancing to "Smooth Criminal." What the f*ck? Real music sampling makes this kinda unique for it's time. I could see how someone would want to own this, not enough replay value to me though.

Is it the rare special edition release, which has the robot hand that reaches out of the kick panel and tries to molest you?

Sorry, couldn't resist. :D

In all seriousness $400+ dollars seems really high for a conversion, especially for what cabs in general are going for right now.

Actually, me and my son played through this game a little while back, and "Smooth Criminal" is NOT the only dance attack song. I think that "Another Part of Me" is one of the other attacks. I also believe that this changes with the level, because "Smooth Criminal" is definitely used in the first couple of stages...

"Smooth Criminal" is in Level 2, but the song is used as dance music on every level. There is one other sound that's used for dance attacks that plays when he does the hat throw dance attack, it sounds generic though and it's only a few seconds. "Another Part of Me" is in the game as BGM for Level 4.

new to the board, but just curious if the attached pictures are the dedicated cabinet. thanks!

You need to clean that graffiti off the side first.

Most of these were in kit form. They're Sega 18 systems.

I'm confused about the kit and Sega 18 system, if you could elaborate I'd appreciate it. Please excuse my lack of knowledge.

Also, are you referring to the silver at the top as the graffiti? That's a decal that is MJ's signature.

thanks p1899m, I appreciate the info.

And I'm with you Mike, but this game is more nostalgia than anything else, just so badly awkward - it's excellent. I can remember wasting far too many quarters on it when I was a kid.

just wanted to comment on this since I LOVE MJ / Moonwalker and own a PCB .. it's awesome! I know someone mentioned there was no fix for the suicide battery, however there seems to be now. The website below has fixes for many Sega suicide battery games.
