Hi all,

Just got back from Hershey Park and took some videos this time around. I did a full walk through as well as some detail videos on particular games or groups of games. Here's what I shot (everything is available in 720p) -

You can also check out the photos I took of the arcade from last year at here:

If you're in the PA area, go to Hersheypark and check out this arcade! Then enjoy the great selection of roller coasters! Enjoy the videos,

Brendan

Nice videos. To answer you question in the one, I'm pretty sure the Choplifter cockpit cabinet used to be a M.A.C.H. 3.

Wow - they got a better selection than I expected. I assume you have to pay an entrance fee to the park to visit the arcade?

I don't think I've ever seen a Q-bert Qubes and a Name That Tune on location before. Pretty cool.

There are discount tickets you can purchase which decreases the entrance fee greatly.. but I heard just on a regular day to get in is like 53 bucks per person.. I'm sure kids are cheaper. I go by that place every day to work and it's packed more and more. Yes the coasters look awesome.. as well as the new water rides.

Thank you for posting this!!

Hershey Park is the first place and only place I ever played Dragon's Lair in the "wild". I have not been there in almost 20 years but if I am not mistaken the DL is in the same spot...

I spent most of my time as a kid in that arcade because I was too scared to ride the Super Dooper Looper!!

Jeremy,

Every year stuff is in slightly different spots, but yes, the Dragon's Lair always seems to be in that general area. Pretty remarkable that whoever takes care of the games went through the trouble of fixing it after it was dead some years back. Some years I will go and the games are in tip top shape (like the time I discovered new insert decals on High Speed), and other times, the games are clearly in need of attention. Thanks for watching!

Been there once, about 25 years ago. I do remember some arcade games being there but thats about the extent of it.

My wife and I have gone there for the last like 8 years. Hersheypark rules. We're cheap...we just camp with a tent at their campsite. If you stay at any Hersheypark lodging including the campsite you get discounted tickets.

I was there last month and the games needed a lot of help. Milipede didn't fire, the T&F buttons didn't work, the Marble Madness trackball was unresponsive, etc. Hopefully you had better luck there than I did with timing.

Do they have another arcade with more modern video games? While its nice to have a bunch of classics the newer games out gross them 5-1 easy...

On another note. Any game tech worth his salt should be able to keep that place close to 100% operational (margin of error given for the Poles). That would be a fun place to be a tech at but I bet they don't pay very well.

There is another arcade with modern stuff in it, but it is much smaller. Hersheypark owns all of the games in that video while the games in the other arcade are owned by an operator. The park is not open year round, so generally what happens is the games are checked through in the off season. If you go in early June, the games are usually in better working order.

That kinda makes more sense. What doesnt make sense is that the other room is operated. It probably our grosses this room (strictly vids only) by quite a margin. If they owned the stuff in both rooms they would be doing much better IMHO.

Wow, never noticed that Choplifter was a former MACH 3 cab. It looks so much different with the top chopped off, but looks like whoever did it, did a good job.

I can tell you as the tech for an operator we converted TONS (litteraly) of MACH3's to Choplifter. It seemed to be a great fit.
