here's my eff'd up major havoc screen, frame mounted transistors huh????

this bad boy was working last time I turned it on, I have played the hell out of it, but really haven't turned it on in over a month, until I discovered this recently.
the pic jumps a little as it is scrunched to the side.

I know, the pic clarity is shit, but I was in a hurry, and it tells the story. :)

deflection board was rebuilt (year or 2 ago) lv 6100 or 2000 installed a couple months ago.

where to start?

Not 100% sure that is your issue. I would definitely check the "bottlecap" transistors first. You might have a cold solder joint on the pins where the transistors plug into the board. You might double check that you reflowed the solder on all those pins at the bottom.

thanks bud, I think I will pull the deflection board and do some soldering, see if that does it, then check the transistors after that.

update to come............................

Ok for the record, I rebuild the A/R II board and it fixed it.

updated in case it helps somebody sometime.

Never touched the frame mounted bottlecap transistors, though I did buy some.

yeah I am pretty pleased it was this easy, this time. The deflection board had a bob roberts rebuild a couple years back and I put a lv6100 on there a few months back.

With the amount of dust caked up in there I was actually looking forward to pulling the monitor so I could clean it up a bit.
