I was doing a deep search for a forgotten file tonight and came across this little gem. Back in '05 SuperAuctions held a one-timer in Rockford, IL. Auction was huge and held in some ancient, abandoned 2 story factory type building near the downtown. Stuff was in various rooms on both floors. Previews were the day before and up to auction time. Then everybody was kicked out and they held the auction outside in the loading dock. One had to come back the next day to pick up their spoils. Stuff went cheap, uber cheap.

They handed out this guide that I scanned to pdf. Old timers probably have seen this before but it's a fun read for the new collector. Enjoy!

Wow, blast from the past. It was definitely a good auction and was fun sitting in the sun bidding on stuff. I think I got 822 and 831!!! Wish I would have made it there sooner that day, but Troy and Bill picked up a ton of stuff from this auction. There really were not that many bidders hanging out that day.

lots of stuff, lots of junk too. What I remeber most was how much corrosion was on the pcbs, almost like some of the games were stored in a salt mine...

did Eddie end up with the roller bowler?

1 troll

Um...

1 mouth rinse dispenser

Yeah - that sounds like something I wanna buy secondhand at an auction.

1 Take Five cocktail

What's this - a multi machine?

1 Popeye cabaret

Would like to have seen this...

Take Five is a cocktail pinball machine.

Oh kewl. Thanks!

(I hear these cocktail pins aren't all that popular. Why? Are they boring?)

They take a decent amount of space (really wide and pretty long for a cocktail) and they are Ok. I had a Roy Clark and it was Ok... You have to work hard to get it to play faster though which is an improvement. They can play a little slow if you don't focus on that.

I doubt that this was the super-insane-huge sell-off that Superauctions did a number of Years ago at a HUGE place that had many levels and "thousands" of games. I THiNK that it was in either Virginia or one of the Carolinas. Only some of the items were sold, and once prices started to drop, the owner of the stuff got nervous and pulled the plug and backed out. Apparently, Rob was unable to complete the auction, and was VERY unhappy with how things ended up...
