Watched a clip of the movie Spring break from 1983. I remembered a scene were a guy and girl were playing Galaga. While they were playing he said:

"To much thruster"

"Use your drone shield"

"There is a pulsar in the zone"

"Photon blast, go to hyperspace"

I know what your saying. Companies try to show arcade games exciting to play in many ads. With unnecessary movement and actions, That you would never do while actually playing the real game. They rather look dorky. It never came to mind till your brought it up!

Same thing with people driving cars in movies and TV shows. They are driving straight down the road, but turning the wheel back and forth slightly because it is active and more exciting then just sitting there.
