Hello All, I need some help with a 15khz vga multi-sync monitor. I'm trying to build a multi arcade with hyperspin. I snagged a beech head 2000 cabinet with a 27" vga crt , I have an HP I-3 core computer and just installed a Radeon R7 240 video card, but can't get a picture on the vga monitor. I tried to use the ArcadeVGA 5000 video card, but there apparently are compatibility issues with it so it was returned to Ultimarc. Does anyone have any solutions I might try. My monitor is a Vision Pro KT-2938 Happ # 49-6157-00. Thanks, J

If it is a VGA monitor, you just directly plug it into the VGA port on the PC. The resolution will probably need to be pretty low like 640x480. Also make sure the Hz are set right.

Well 15Khz is not VGA, it is CGA.
If you have a Vision Pro model # KT-2938, then it is a 31Khz VGA monitor.

John, it states on screen that it is 15khz to 31khz, from the little I know about it, I was told that it was a multi-sync. My problem is when I plug it in the computers onboard video it works with some of the games, but others are very choppy or they don't come up at all. From reading other posts it seem that each emulator and or game has its own resolution and frame speed or refresh rate. I ordered the ArcadeVGA5000 thinking this would cure the issues as stated on the Ultimarc website, but apparently there is a compatibility problem with my computer, so I returned it and purchased the Radeon R7 240 of which I can't get to work at all. As you can tell I know nothing about this and any help is very appreciated. Thanks, J

If it has problems with VGA resolutions and it is a true tri res monitor. You could get a VGA to CGA converter. That way it will convert the VGA computer signal to 15K CGA resolution. And it doesn't matter what video card you use.

This is what I use on my MAME machine. Boot, Loading, Windows desktop, and all games display correctly in 15K on my CGA monitor.

You just plug a VGA cable from your video card to the device and then wire the monitor's CGA port to the device.

Most monitors you will have to swap some wires or a switch to switch from VGA to CGA. Some are automatic.

Thanks John, just ordered it, for 25 bucks I can't go wrong. Would you suggest keeping the Radeon card or just using the onboard video. J

Won't hurt anything using a more powerful video card. Would probably help graphical things like the front loader.
