HI, after sitting off for a while. When turned back on the screen is all scrambled, and needs to warm up or a restart. Also after beeing left on for some time the screen freezes on a black screen with white grid lines?
Any help would be great thanks

The battery is located where the arrow is pointed.

If you scroll about half way down you should see the battery and the fix for it.
Now mind you just fixing the battery will might not fix your powersupply.
You might need replace the capacitors on the powers supply to make your machine stable.

Bob roberts has parts if you want to rebuilt it.

Or you can replace the powersupply with a switching power supply

if you find the power suppy is the issue and decide to go with an adapter, make sure to get the HEAVY DUTY power supply with itm not the cheap one.

Yup what he said. If you use a cheaper one you will save 15 or 20 dollar but that is small amount to spend for something more stable.

Well the machine is now worse after being transported. It won't even stay on to play. It will start up act like it's working and screen changes colors, does more scrabbling, grid screen, also seen a ram error screen? Could the power supply cause all that? The move changed something, because the game played great before the move. There is no damage that I can see, everything inside seems in place and connected.
Thanks for the help

Have you also tried cutting the Purple wire for the reset cct (Or purple and White on a Zac cab) coming from the switcher board? Mine just has scrambled image if I leave it connected! Also check the voltages across capacitors C102 and 106 on the switcher board. C106 should read 5V and C102 12V. Then check the 12V and 5V going to the game board, as it could be a bad connection on the switcher connectors. I hope you can read a basic CCT diagram and use a multi meter?

Also make sure the very last option is to replace it with a new switcher kit, as a lot of people complain about a loud buzzing from some of them, also the original switcher is so easy to repair and it's original :)

I just fully rebuilt mine as it kept blowing F1, and it was just a single capacitor short cct on the fuse line.

Also try unplugging the board cables and reconnecting them and give all the socketed IC's a push as it could be a bad connection, but before doing that touch something that is earthed to discharge yourself and if you ever intend to disconnect any of the connectors going to the game board always take a clear photo first.

If all tests OK, and you think there is a problem with your game board there's only one person I'll ever trust with my Tron board repairs and that's Chris or CDjump on this forum. Sent my board from here in the UK and had it back in the UK within 2 weeks, and he changed a crap load of chips and sockets and he also flashed freeplay ROM for me.

Mind you he did say it was the worse Tron board he has ever repaired! Sorry Chris LOL

Unplug the machine.
-Take pictures of the all the boards.
-Make sure you know where all the connectors are. A little self stick dot on the cable and on the board will tell you how to aling up the connectors when you plug it back in.
-Take the boards apart.
-Put the boards on a peice of flat carbboard on the floor or table and press down on the chips in sockets. You might here crunching noise. This is normal.
-On the edge connector use a red pencil eraser to clean off any oxidation. Remeber to wipe the eraser on cloth to clean the eraser before and during. Jeans work great.
-Reassemble the boards. If you forgot how to refer back to your pictures.

Plug it back in and fire it back up.
Good luck :)
