Here are pictures of the current one and the replacement.
As you can see in one of my pictures the fucking new one fell and a piece chipped off. does that ruin the new one? (please say no) :)

so in the old one there are adjustment pots (focus and bright I assume like most other flybacks) this new one doesn't have them. Am I supposed to transfer the adjustment section to the new flyback?

Ouch! That looks like it hurt.

For the adjustment knobs, they stay with the chassis and you put the new flyback in and solder the 2 wires to the posts before putting the flyback on the chassis so that the 2 wires are beneath the flyback and on top of the component side of the chassis. The new flyback should have a red and black mark to indicate where the wires go; its the same places as the old one.

ok, I assumed that, but love having confirmation.

can I get an opinion on if this flyback is toast, or if it's no big deal (the new one that chipped off )

Sometimes the amount of ferrite in the core is necessary to get the induction required, usually its the amount of ferrite under the copper windings directly. So you might be ok.

It might just act as a spike suppressor since it comes outside the case and back inside (like a ferrite bead) in which case you would want to make sure the ferrite still makes it's complete path around the flyback case.

changes induction value however you will be ok as its such a small amount..
still in tollerance.

I realize you guys are holding my hand and wiping my ass through this flyback change, lol.
sorry about that. (haven't messed with these monitors before)

So with the replaced flyback, there is no screw hole in the flyback to mount the (focus/bright) adjustments. Just try to mount them or let them hang huh?

Be sure the connections are insulated. Honestly..eventhough it will work..I'd investigate returning it..and get another. Maybe the manufacturer will work with you.

what connections are you referring to?

concerning the broken off piece?
that's my fault, it rolled off my work table and fell to the ground. I wouldn't expect anyone to "work with me" on that one, lol.

Off the back of the focus/bright adjustments. Also be sure that loose part doesn't end up resting against someting that is prone to getting really hot.

OK last question I think.
I picked up some fuses but not perfect matches.

I got a 4a 250v I figure that's ok for the 4a 125v

but my other question is concerning the 300 mA fuses.
I picked up 2 packs from fryes. 300mA slo blo and 315 mA fast
which would be better?
