You might try taking the resistor out to see if the color bands are still visible on the other side. But judging by the burn on the board, they're probably gone too.

Hi there

I have taken it out and unfortunatley it is burnt all the way around. It has marked the board a little too.

ok here are some pictures of the monitor and the board that is directly underneath of it. i hope there ok as i have not taken them out of the table. theres also 1 of the side of the monitor which has some numbers on it hopefully this might help.

thanks

That resistor is in the regulator circuit and as it has frizzled there will be other damage that is not visable as it is directly connected to most parts of the circuit - probably transistors and/or diodes shorted etc..….

As it has failed drastically it suggests current has gone through it that it was never designed to carry.

Time for some professional help I suggest.

Ok would I be able to buy a complete replacement board? Or do u know of anywhere I could send it to get it repaired. I live in the uk if that helps

Thanks

I'm certain it would be repairable with the right knowledge. TV repair shops don't exist any more (in Australia anyway) - a tech that is experienced in this sort of work would fix it easily but where to find one?????

Here in the uk they are still available but are hard to find. Might know 1 shop will enquire 2moro. Would they need just the pcb or would they need the complete monitor unit?
