I recently picked up an older model used Saega bill changer that has a DBV-20 validator installed. There's no test switch on the unit, but I've identified the wires from the DBV-20/circuit board that trigger the coin mechanism. I'm planning to install a momentary push button to bypass the bill validator and manually dispense tokens, which seems pretty straightforward.

However, in an ideal setup, I'd love to go a step further and trick the DBV-20 into accepting some homemade bills—just for fun. I thought it would be a cool project to print some fake bills with my kids' faces on them and have the machine dispense tokens when they insert one.

Is there any way to get the DBV-20 to "validate" a homemade bill? Maybe a DIP switch setting or programming mode that would let anything pass as valid? Alternatively, I was considering installing an optical switch or sensor that detects when something is inserted, but I'd still need to prevent the DBV-20 from rejecting it.

Any advice, documentation, or creative workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
