Just added a rush 2049 to my collection last weekend and I'm having a bit of an audio problem. Front left and right speakers are working great, but the sub and the rear seat speakers are not. Ran the tests on the boards and everything checks out ok, but when i test the speakers i get NOTHING out of the rears or sub. not even a hum. Ive split the unit at the seat to check the wire harness for breaks and found everything looking just fine. No noticeable breaks. Also checked the speakers and they look ok too... I can't for the life of my figure it out. This is a HUGE feature for these racers and would love to get it working. Anyone have any suggestions?? Anything will help.

Im going to pick up the proper tools to do that today. Any suggestions? I just finally found a pdf of the manual online. for the longest all i could find was the upright. (which doesn't have rear speakers.) So know i will actually know what wires on the board go to the speakers. I have checked out the harness pretty well and it looks really good tho. My only thoughts were that i was missing some sort of settings option in the menus, or where the seat comes apart from the cab and the harness comes apart i had that hooked up wrong. but I'm not really sure it can be hooked up wrong? Its just 4 green wires that run to the speakers and they all look identical. Sorry for sounding like such a noob, this sort of issue is all new to me. Also, the key pad isn't working. (but i think the pad has goes bad)

Could be an audio output problem on the board. Any way you can test the speakers? Like, say, another cabinet to plug them in to? At least that way you could verify the actual speakers are working.

yeah thats my next step. the board seems to test ok. Im trying the speakers next. it just seems odd to me that both rear speaks and the sub would go out. specially considering they are all in the seat. but it will be one more thing to rule out. Ill check now and repost.

ok, i think i may have figured out my issue. Im guessing the "triamp" board is what controls the rear speakers and sub. at least thats what i gather form the book. there are two leds on the triamp board that i think one should at least be on. none are lit up so I'm assuming its not working. which would cause me to get no rear audio? can anyone confirm that for me? If so does anyone know where to start with fixing this, or if there is a way to test it in the test menu?

ok so i figured out it has to be the triamp board. I have also got a bad steering board. neither of them have any noticeable burn marks. can anyone give me some advice on how to test these for sure so i can find out exactly what it is that is causing the board to not work? Any help would be GREAT! Thanks

How do you know the steering oard is bad? Is the FFB not working? The steering board is contains 2 power transistors that drive the force feedback motor. One drives the motor in each direction. Do a KLOV search, there are a couple threads on here with all the details on replacing them. If I recall I found them at Mouser, or Digikey or something?

i came to the conclusion that there was something up with the board when i found a blown fuse and when i replaced it, the steering just pulls to the right. and with your response about the two power transistors and them controlling the steering in each direction kind of confirms it. ill search it. you know off the top of your head how to figure out which one is bad?

Na, not off the top of my head, find that thread on here, I believe it is discussed which drives which direction. If I recall, I just swapped them both out and was done with it.

Once you get you game up and running you can upgrade it to 2049 Sepecial Edition to get more cars and tracks , let me know if you decide to do so I have the parts needed.

it actually is a SE already. I did find the forum you were speaking of but looks like people are saying those cost quite a bit. Found someone who will swap me a working tested referb for $ 75. Anyone know if that sounds like a good deal. some people make it sound like it is, then other threads i read make it seem like a cheap and easy fix

ok, so here is the board in question. can someone tell me if these power transistors I'm looking for are the two big blue ones? My wheel steers all the way to the right and stays to the right. just trying to pinpoint what it is i need to change and were to get them.

sorry I'm totally new to this all. so then the power trans I'm looking for are the two little black things that are sitting between the left capacitor and the big heat sync? Labeled Q2 and Q3? I have the manual and am looking at the breakdown but it doesn't show any "power transistors". just -15v and +15v regulators. Is that them?

That's not the steering board is it? I think you need the other small board

Hmm, well either they put a different steering motor board on 2049 than the Rock, or that's not the right board. The Rock uses "A21442 motorboard assembly". And the op amps are labeled Q1 and Q2 I believe. Just for the heck of it, post a pick of the other small boards....the drivers get hot, and sit on a large heat sink with many fins. I think the fan in the back blows directly on it.......

yeah this board says wheel driver on it. and the other says triamp. looks like the # is 5772-16255-00?
