I recently picked up a "Pang" PCB that was dead. I figured I would give it a shot to resurrect the board and I'm almost there. I used this link as guidance:
http://arcadecollecting.com/dead/pre-cps.html
I believe I did everything correct and the board actually came back to life. Now I'm just having an issue which you can see on the video. I tried Pang and Buster revision roms but I had similar results. Have you guys ever come across this? The only issue I had which could be affecting the board is the one rom I burned. Every time I try to burn the 27c020 I complete the writing process but as soon as the chip begins to verify, I get a failure error. Attached are some pictures of my mod and the Youtube link. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks Caius for the guidance. I looked at the chip you were referring to and reflowed it. Turned out there was a cold joint somewhere and the board works great. If you guys have any questions just let me know. Thanks again.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this seems to be the same problem I am having. My friend says it is the custom chip 86S105. The game runs, sound is good, graphics have an issue on the main character/weapon where they go invisible. I will try to reflow and see if I get lucky!
