I have been fighting with my ms pac man cocktail for awhile, i have it in my basement and will not degauss for nothing. I bought a good degaussing coil and it still remains a small greenish tint at the bottom and its driving me nuts, any ideas on how i could fix this, i can see it go away as i make circle with the coil but comes back as i pull away

Got any pics? Try rotating the cab around (at least 90°), hell even try tilting it, or moving it to a different area in the basement and see if anything changes, at all. These cocktails can be weird due to the orientation of the monitor and the magnetic poles.

If NOTHING changes, it's either
1) a weird magnetic field IN your cabinet (not likely)
2) your Purity is screwed (your purity rings or your yoke is out of alignment) (likely)
3) your degaussing skills are BAD :)
4) your monitor is just jacked (technically, someone else with more experience is needed here...)

If something does change, well, then... move it to a spot where there isn't an issue :)

I know when I spin it the colors go to a differant part of the screen. I'm going to move it in the garage and see if it changes, I'm trying to sell it and wanna get it resolved because I have a buyer comming to look at it Sunday.

Couple of things:

In a cocktail, you want to degauss with the lid closed, and in operating position. If you degauss with the monitor flipped up, then when you put it back it'll be out of whack again :)

Also, it's possible for the metal frame of the monitor to become slightly magnetized too. Flip up the monitor, demagnetize that corner of the frame (stay away from the electron gun/magnet assembly!). Then, flip the monitor down and re-degauss the whole face.

does it have the original power brick in it? (shield isolation transformer)

I had trouble degaussing a scramble cocktail at some point, and I took a standard switching power supply box and covered it in tinfoil and set it over the top of my isolation transformer. That did the trick. (got the idea from a klover)

I assume you would have to be careful having a big chunk of foil sitting loose in your cab. I am not an expert on electronics though.

for the record, I did this 2 years ago, and moved the game from one house to another, and I have never had an issue.

haha, ill try it, wouldnt hurt to try

I had the same battle with my upright with a rebuilt G07 in it. Had washed out red's and yellow's in one corner no matter how much I manually degaussed it. The game's got moved around last month and the problem went away.
