Hello everyone My Dad has this Little Chief Em Pinball machine. I personaly did'nt see the problem he only told me about it .. I could'nt see it Chrismas Eve and all.

He said the Relay that runs the Displays Melted? *Son in law held it down soo he could max out the score*

What needs too be replaced too get the display working? From what he told me the pin plays fine but does'nt do the score.

Thankyou everyone for your responds.. Merry Chrismas Everyone!

There are no "displays" on an electromechanical pinball machine. Only score reels.

Holding down a relay designed for intermittent duty can cause other coils to burn up too. So it could be very likely that the son-in-law may have done more damage that is readily apparent.

The first thing to do is eyeball ALL the coils for signs of burning. Then look in the manual and on the schematic for the coil part numbers for any burned ones.

Now order the correct coils from one of the pinball parts suppliers. In this case of an EM type machine, I would strongly suggest Steve Young's Pinball Resource (www.pbresource.com).

TY Ken for responding on Chrismas Day.. Yes i know its does'nt have displays for the pin. But i did'nt know how too say it any other way.

Another thing the Son in law might have done was Clean the Reels with Glass cleaner? Some of the Numbers you could'nt Read them becouse they where all Black.

Could that have caused anything else Major too happen? I don'nt belive he has a Manuel I would have too goto his place and look everything over before i know anything else.

He knows nothing about this things He has the Pin in his Band/Pool Table Room.

First: Have him tell his !#$% son-in-law to keep his !@#@$% hands out of his machines, he doesn't know what the $$&$() he is doing!

Second: You can download the manual and schematics here: http://ipdb.org/search.pl?any=little+chief&searchtype=quick

He should be able to find the melted coil number in the manual and order a replacement from pbresource.com

So your just saying coils went bad? I don'nt know what he is talking about that melted .. I will have too find the time and go over there and check it out.

Sorry to confuse. I thought a relay coil had melted from the discription in your first post:

Relay that runs the Displays Melted?

If you stop over to look at it, it would be nice if you're dad could show you exactly what the son-in-law "held down" to max out the score.

Good luck!
