Help with k7000 hookup

A bunch of goodwill reject shit. That whole collection is worth less than a pack of cigarettes. Thanks for the link to the video gave me a good laugh. How the hell can you be a fan of Drew Barrymore? Most fake celebrity of them all

Nobody likes a cheater, everyone can agree on that. I'm not saying it's not legit and he's done all this stuff but he's glazing himself pretty hard for someone who relatively unknown and unskilled apparently. Wrestler was all you had to say.
what did Drew Barrymore do? I don't follow these things.

She didn't do anything ever and that's the problem 😂 She seems like a nice girl in real life, only reason she's famous is because her dad is media mogul though. Nobody except this guy who fucked up Nimr0ds k7000 chassis goes and watches Charlie's angels and says wow Drew Barrymore is outstanding in this! She doesn't belong a long side Lucy Liu and no matter how hard she fakes it to me it doesn't work. She hasn't really done anything noteworthy except Charlie's angels and she has a tv show now but it's just super cringe. Overall it's a weird celebrity in my opinion to idolize, none should be idolized but Drew Barrymore just has nothing going for her. She seems fake overall.

Right I dont think ive seen one with a ceramic cap to be honest but I believe its in the notes of the cap kit if one is there to replace it with the electrolytic. Even if the chassis is not marked, although i think it is but there was so many k7000 revisions. I mean idk what he charged him but if you are going to charge and say you are professional should you not have knowledge on this.. i mean he did not know this or was like well this should work? Dosent have another chassis to cross reference? I purposely keep a rebuilt one of every model to make a double check pretty fast and simple to make sure i didnt put in a backwards cap i mean ive done it a few times we are all human. Hence the double check and hooking it up to a tube for st least 24hrs.

lmao i about fell out of my chair. I was thinking the same thing.

I will leave you all with this:

One of Scott's treasures, his Drew Barrymore collection.

If you lose a few brain cells watching it I cannot be held responsible.

oh. this was the post I missed. hahahahahaha

Update: I went ahead and filed a PayPal dispute for the money paid to him. And he was able to get that email and then subsequently reply to me:

I like how you call him Patrick. his inner circle calls him Scott. I wonder if that makes him mad.
He has never told me how to address him, if he wanted to go by his middle name he should indicate that. Thats just common respect.

they call him Scott but he calls himself Patrick Scott Patterson. PSP is how I knew him a millennia ago. I still think it's hilarious he has some issue with me almost 5 years after the fact. so whatever.

Get your money back from this clown and be done with him. Was going to tell you to PayPal claim him but figured I've already said enough.

Pulling the chassis today and sending to @JukeboxJon for proper repair... thank you so much for all the help.

Will wait on my refund from Patrick but not holding my breath. I got a novel this morning, which is appreciated given the lack of communication to this point, but still too little too late.

You'll win this PayPal claim. He messed up, his fault he is solely responsible to remediate the issue. If he doesn't you should be entitled to a full refund. The service was rendered incorrectly you don't owe him shit. He left you worse off.

you could learn a lot about K7000s from how I did it months ago. there's video evidence. lol

I'm in Indiana -- 47122. Where are you?

Is this just the boards? Chance my tube is blown now? The tube I couldn't get colors right before, that's why I sent it off for repair.

I sent this dude a new flyback to install, does not look like he put it on!!

I don't mind doing low voltage repair... I just am super leery of this high voltage stuff. I've done a few NVRAM installs and chip sockets, it's not the cap that's my concern, it's I don't know anything about these boards and what else could be wrong and don't want to go down the rabbit hole of learning it the first time.
Colors could be the guns need cleaning, bad transistors or pots on the neckbeard, etc . You need to test the tube or have somebody else test it.

Don't send this chassis off to the same person. Drop Paul Juray a line. Turnaround time is like 1-2 weeks and he does exceptional work.

Looks like he does have an account on here as well, @TexasHotshot

I'll be posting my experience over on KLOV and some other places shortly
That's really sad he's been on this forum since 2001 and can't put a cap in the correct way. Like I literally could cap a monitor when I was 15 years old and have it come out perfect (I actually did), this guy is at least 50 so 🤷‍♂️

I was unaware he had a "business" lol

I thought he was one of those fly by night types that was like "LoL I fIx ArCaDeS"

nobody down there knows how to crimp molex, they just scavenge harnesses from one game to wire nut together in another. they think it's like some real advanced shit but at the end of the day they're just hacks. who knows, maybe I came across some of his handywork. I just know that job was aggravating every day.

So received @nimr0d 's k7000 yesterday did a quick check and surprisingly no other caps were installed backwards. Spent about 45 mins on it this morning doing some quick checks on the power and horizontal section and I noticed the horizontal coil was turned almost completely out of the coil, enough so it seems it was stopping the horizontal section from even working, further proof it was never tested. So adjusted that back to how it should. The color pots where all different crazy adjustments, thats why your colors were not right, your tube is probably just fine. Further proof it was never tested. They were all gunked up and hard to turn ao got some deoxit on them and got them all straightened it out. Fired her up and shes looking good with a few flyback and control pad adjustments. However there is still a horizontal width problem, might just be a width cap issue etc, adjusting the horizontal coil seems to do diddly but I will get her figured out later today or tomorrow when I get time. This tube is only about a 7/10 I actually had to rejuvenate it, it had almost no green but its been 2 weeks and the rejuve is holding strong always nice to see when they take. Pretty sure it was a k7000a because its a zenith tube and has the odd frame, not that it matters. It also has minor convergence issues but the rings will fall apart if i tried to adjust it, so as good as she gets. This chassis will look excellent on a good tube.

Also, Fuck Patrick Scott Patterson. 😃
