The old power supply in my Gaplus had a -12 but the switcher I got from Bob Roberts doesn't have -12 , what do I do . Its the purple wire in the pic .

Try attaching it to the -5. It's probably just used for the sound circuit, which normally takes the +12 and -12 and rectifies it down to +5 and -5 anyway. At least, that's how Williams games do it. Hooking up the -5 will work probably....

Thanks mod !

I got two more questions ,

On the old power supply there is two +5 outputs , +5 20A/OVP and +5 RTN . Can both these go to the +5 on the new switcher ?

Also the games wiring looks like its properly grounded , theres the ground wire coming in off the power cord and theres these flat ground straps that are connected in various spot though out the game . But theres no ground wires to hook up to the ground connections on the switcher . Is this alright or should there always be ground wires going in and out the switcher ?

According to the Gaplus manual posted at arcarc (not a very good scan I might add), this game uses an MCR power supply and it generates a reset signal to the game board. It does not show a switcher power supply.

Yeah the MCR is the original power supply ? The original power supply was removed and this was put in there . I'm replacing this ,

So I hooked it up and the voltage at +5 is too high , 6.6 and its turned all the way down . Also I tested the AC input at the switcher and its at 60V , shouldn't I read 110V there ?

When reading AC voltage, you put one lead on one AC input and the other lead on the other AC input. If you have one lead on ground, you'll only read half of the AC voltage...

yep what I was doing ,

take it off and hope your board is okay...

Everything is ok and working 100 % !!

Damn making a mistake like that really sucks .

The monitor looks great , I rebuilt it , but I am having major interference thats washing out the colors when its put back in place . I've read on here thats a common problem with cocktails ,
